Rotation (9-man)

PG: Jonny Flynn [38] / Earl Watson [10]
SG: Ray Allen [30] / (Paul Pierce [18])
SF: Paul Pierce [20] / Hedo Turkoglu [28]
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge [38] / Jeff Pendergraph [10]
C: Dwight Howard [38] / Brad Miller [10]

Team Direction

I'm pretty comfortable with my roster right now. Wouldn't be adverse to moving Flynn + picks (& filler) to get a more experienced point guard, but not desperate to. Will listen to offers on anyone but Dwight, but only if they wow me will I consider.

Trade History

Traded Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, Rudy Fernandez & Joel Przybilla to Orlando for Dwight Howard, Brandon Bass & Mikael Pietrus

Traded Brandon Bass, Marcus Camby, Patty Mills, 2010 1st, 2010 2nd, for TOR 2010 1st; Hedo Turkoglu and Kirk Hinrich (as part of a 4-way trade)

Traded Andre Miller, Mikael Pietrus, Dante Cunningham and Toronto's 1st (13) for Jason Richardson & Jordan Hill (as part of a 6-way trade)

Traded Jerryd Bayless, 2012 1st to LAL for Donatas Moteijunas & DJ White

Traded 2012 2nd to Indiana for 2010 2nd (no. 57)

Drafted Charles Garcia at 57. Signed to a 3 year deal, with years 2-3 team options.

Traded DJ White for Garrett Temple (as part of a 3-way trade)

Traded Nicolas Batum, Charles Garcia & Garrett Temple for Jonny Flynn

Traded Kirk Hinrich, Donatas Moteijunas, rights to Claver and Koponen, for Andre Miller & Thaddeus Young (as part of a 3-way trade)

Signed Brad Miller to Bi-Annual Exception, 2nd year team option

Signed Roger Mason to 1 year vet minimum contract.

Traded Jason Richardson, Andre Miller, Thaddeus Young, Jordan Hill & 2011 1st to Toronto, for Paul Pierce, Marcus Banks and Marco Belinelli.

Traded Marco Belinelli to GSW for Earl Watson and Theo Ratliff

Traded Martell Webster and 2013 1st to Cleveland for Courtney Lee, James Singleton, Josh Powell, & Jarron Collins.

Traded Marcus Banks to Houston for Daniel Gibson

Signed Dan Gadzuric to a one season, unguaranteed minimum contract.

Traded Courtney Lee, Daniel Gibson, Josh Powell & Theo Ratliff for Ray Allen, as part of a 3-way trade.

Traded Dan Gadzuric for Theo Ratliff

Please note any trade or free agency signing I make will be decided by r0cd0gg, so I remain impartial.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Green - Player Option and ETO

TPE's -
$6,600,000 (Jeff Foster)
$3,324,997 (Ekpe Udoh)
$2,115,160 (Brandon Rush)

Depth Chart -
Roy Hibbert (12p 6r 2a 2b) 28 min/Josh Boone (4p 5r 1a 1b) 14 min/Kris Humphries 6 min
Carl Landry (17p 6r 1a 1b) 30 min/Dante Cunningham (4p 3r .2a) 6 min/Kris Humphries 12 min (7p 6r 1a)

Playing Style -
The goal that I have had when building this team is to acquire players that are tough and skilled. This Indiana Pacers team is in the mold of the old Jermaine O'neal/Ron Artest led teams. We play tough defense, we get in your face, and our team has no shortage of scorers.

A lot of our offense will be based on how good our perimeter players are. Arenas and Granger are two of the best scorers in the game, and either can go off for 30 or more points on any given night. There will be a lot screens, and pick and rolls/pops - which is where Hibbert will see most of his production stem from. With this emphasis on opening up perimeter players there will be many opportunities for Carl Landry, one of the games best interior scorers. His job will be to get open, and to score efficiently (which he is very good at, he was 13th in true shooting percentage last year). Finally with all of the attention paid to those players it will leave DeMar Derozan to cut freely through the court - he will see scoring opportunities from all four players on the court.

Ironically, our starting lineup may have the most false teeth of any in basketball.

Looking to Trade -
Danny Granger is the only player I am not interested in trading. I want him to be the 2nd best player on my team as I don't feel he can carry it alone.

Untouchable: Danny Granger
Very Hard to get: Roy Hibbert, Carl Landry, DeMarr DeRozan
Valuable parts of my team/hard to get: Gilbert Arenas, Da'Sean Butler, Dante Cunningham
Looking at possible trades: Dante Cunningham, DeMar DeRozan, Gilbert Arenas

Needs: Depth and youth. I would really like to find a good sixth man. Mickael Petruise and expirings are the package I am dangling for one.

Picks -
2010 IND 1st (10) - Ekpe Udoh
2010 IND 2nd (40) - Da'Sean Butler
2010 HOU 2nd (45) - Namanja Bjelica - Rights To
2011 GS 2nd
...

Transactions -

Wizards send/Pacers receive:
Gilbert Areanas $17,730,693

Pacers Send/Wizards receive:
Mike Dunleavy $10,561,984
T.J. Ford $8,500,000

Pacers agree. Gilbert is similar in age to Granger and gives us the edge to make it over the playoff hump. I know about all his problems in the past two seasons but he can still be that 20 and 6 type of guy we are looking for.

Indiana Trades/Phoenix Receives
Troy Murphy $11,968,253

Phoenix, Dallas, Portland Trade/Indiana Receives:
Mickael Pietrus
Dante Cunningham
DeShawn Stevenson
Daequan Cook

Indiana accepts. I get a ton of depth that is really going to help my team in the future. Usually I don't trade talent for depth, but in this case I feel that it makes me a much better team.

Indiana Trades/Dallas Receives
Jeff Foster $6,655,000

Dallas Trades/Indiana Receives
2010 Houston 2nd (45)

We create a large TPE and get a second round pick that might turn into something good. I had a log-jam at center that this trade fixes. It's hard letting a guy go who played so well on our team for years, but he is in a position to win a championship in Dallas.

Indiana Trades/Portland Receives
2010 Dallas 2nd (57)

Portland Trades/Indiana Receives
2012 Portland 2nd

Indiana Sends/Boston Receives
Brandon Rush $2,069,040
Dahntay Jones $2,500,000

Boston Sends/Indiana Receives
DeMarr DeRozan $2,453,880
2011 Golden State 2nd

For us it is all about fit and flexibility. DeRozan is a much more physical player that slashes to the middle. Indiana already has plenty of shooters but very few guys that are going to be able to get into the middle and open them up. Rush was sort of a bone head, so even though he is a nice young prospect I like DeRozan much more. Also we clear a logjam on the wings (trading a player that won't be back next year) and reduce our salary a bit.

Indiana Trades/Sacramento Receives
Ekpe Udoh $2,168,520
Tyler Hansbrough $1,986,600
Daequan Cook $2,169,857
2011 Indiana 1st
2012 Portland 2nd

Sacramento Trades/Indiana Receives
Carl Landry $3,000,000
*Sacramento is under the salary cap so the trade works

I think that this trade officially pushes Indiana into the status of contender. I sacrifice a lot of the mini youth movement I had going, but now my core of Granger-Arenas-Landry are all 26 or 27 years old. I also still have DeRozan and Hibbert, so I really do still have a young team. I am really sorry to see Udoh and Hansbrough go, but this trade makes my starting lineup so much better that I think it is worth it.

Indiana Sends/LA Clippers Receive
Mickael Pietrus $5,300,000
A.J. Price $762,195

LA Clippers Send/Indiana Receives
Randy Foye $4,000,000
Al Thornton $2,814,196

Indiana accept. Price is injured for most of the season and I don't have another backup point guard. Foye fills that role and can take some shooting guard position while Thornton is another nice player to help my depth chart.

Golden State Sends/Indiana Receives (Pending Approval)
Corey Maggette $9,600,000

Indiana Sends/Golden State Receives
DeShawn Stevenson $4,151,786
Solomon Jones $1,500,000
Al Thornton $2,814,196

This is all about consolidating talent. I feel Maggette will be worth at least two years of his contract, and then it expires. He is the perfect 6th man for us.

Charlotte Sends/Indiana Receives
James Johnson $1,763,600 4p 2r 1a
Kris Humphries $3,200,000 7p 6r 1a

Indiana Sends/Charlotte Recieves
Randy Foye 10p 2r 3a $4,000,000
Josh McRoberts 4p 3r 1a $885,000
2011 IND 2nd

I signed Jordan Farmar and traded for Corey Maggette, so I didn't really have room on my roster for Foye. I feel that the youth I get in this trade will be beneficial to my team, and I look forward to seeing both players in a Pacers uniform.
