Henry to Play for NY Red Bulls

France's Thierry Henry has signed a deal to play for the New York Red Bulls of the MLS, according to media reports.

Henry, whose season with Barcelona finished Sunday, will play for the French team at the World Cup in South Africa next month before joining the Red Bulls, The Boston Globe and SI.com have reported.

Henry, 32, still has a year left on his contract with Barcelona. He holds the mark for most French national team goals with 51.

This should be interesting...

Henry will be the retiree with the fastest Rascal, then. I can already see him running circles around most of these guys.

i wouldn't be too sure, he sucked major balls this season. he is still way more talented than probably any player in the league but you take motivation out of a player and you never know what you'll get.

Lol, before leaving the Arsenal, he was one of the best striker in the world, if not the best., but now... MLS.

He's not that old. He should have at least a couple of good seasons left in him. Happy retirement, you cheater.

He's not that old, but his mileage is pretty high. And seven years in England with useless cloggers trying to kick you off the pitch takes its toll on you.

He could play a 3rd striker role on a CL team still, but he does have a ton of mileage on him.

I think he just wants to rest. He's accomplished anything he possibly can, and he's obviously tired. Why not take a vacation with pay?

Didn't he take enough vacation on Barca this season? He hasn't exactly played that many games for Barca this season and got substituted (in and out) often.
