This is one of the reasons why I actually like the idea of hiring Collins. I think he has a strong belief on how to win and given his strong analysis for TNT, I would be shocked if he came in here and thought he could just take this team as it exists and make it a contender for anything other than the 8th seed each year.
Does anybody think there is a possibility that if Collins comes here eventually he ends up retiring from the sideline and taking Stefanski's job? Somehow, I could see Ed Snider pulling that, especially if McKie/Snow is here as a designated successor
Dear Sir,
I find your statement to be quite an excellent point. I believe Mr. Stefanski, never gave Collins serious consideration in the first coaching search is due to that very fact. While I believe Mr. Collins is a good coach, I believe his reputation far supersedes his actual results. In addition to his Philadelphia connection, any type of improvement the Sixers would achieve, would without a doubt be accredited to Mr. Collins. I could easily see some type of power move taking place as mentioned if there would be a disagreement between the two.
I do not think Mr. Stefanski would want to hire his own successor, and I have a difficult time buying into the rumors that this is a done deal, unless Mr. Stefanski, figures being forced out winning is better than forced out losing with one's tail between their legs.
Thank you very much and have a good day.
