Who will win the NBA title?

Post#1 » by NEM » Mon May 10, 2010 4:40 am

As some of you may know, I am a Magic fan, but I am asking this question on every teams board (except the teams still in the playoffs) just to get a view of how everyone else feels about the playoffs. Sort of for like personal research type of deal. Provide an explanation if possible.

Thx,
Raw

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

Can you explain why the poll is closed? Especially with you carpet bombing all team boards with your question?

I think there should be a vote for the remaining 4 (LA, PHX, ORL, CLE/BOS) teams. Then you may have your answer...
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

A Suns-Magic final could be pretty fun to watch, and it would spread the wealth a little too.

I'd love to see Magic-Suns with my boy Grant Hill(fellow South Lakes alum :D)taking the title.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

I would like to see a Magic-Suns finals. I think those are the teams that have been the most impressive in the play-offs. I don't think the Celtics are good enough to give either Western Conference team a competitive series and the Lakers annoy me.

It'll be Lakers/Celtics - a rematch of 2 years ago. The Celtics will take Orlando in 6 games. I think the Celts' age and the Lakers' length and Kobe give LA the edge.

^After last night I can't disagree, looks like Kobe's bout to get one for his thumb, he seems extra focused, basically the opposite of the way Lebron acted. Lebron may have more raw talent than anyone in the world, but there's no way I personally would put him ahead of Kobe. (and that's not based on hate for Lebron, I don't really like Kobe all that much either)

Yeah, Stern gets his Plan B wish and has a LA/BOS final (of course Plan A was LeBron vs Kobe). But I'm not sure it's going to be a slam dunk for LA.

The last time they face each other, LA didn't have Bynum but BOS didn't have Sheed (who should be fully rested after taking the whole season off). You also have to factor in an older Derek Fisher going up against a much improved Rondo. Tony Allen has also been a pesky defender in these playoffs.

I would still expect the Lakers to win, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it go the full 7 games. I'd actually be surprised if it didn't.

FWIW, I live in Reston but being an old fart, went to Herndon.
SLHS didn't exist when I graduated. My kids will be going to
SLHS, the older one beginning next year. Grant Hill lived
next door to a guy I used to carpool with. He's a class act.
The Suns are at the top of my preference list.

Kobe is in a zone and Lamar Odom has finally decided to show up for the playoffs.

As long as the Lakers get a double double from Odom while Bynum is hobbled, they should be good. Anything they get from Bynum in terms of points is just an added bonus.

The Celtics are really impressive, but even with Rondo, LA's road to the finals has had them facing other dynamic PGs... Westbrook, Williams, now Nash...

If you want to pull for a team that "deserves" it, it is hard not to pull for the Suns. Nash is a hall of famer near the end of his career. Hill is a class act. Amare has really stepped up his game at the end of the season and in the play-offs. Richardson also has been playing very well.

^ true dat

they couldn't buy a call last night and as long as the piece of
Meat is in a zone, there may be nothing that can stop LA.

which team is more badly misnamed, the Lakers (LA? Seriously?)
Or the Jazz (SLC? is there even one jazz club in Utah?)

Yeah, they are both oddly named (although I would say LA's name is slightly better because of the alliteration). Maybe Minnapolis and New Orleans should have done what Seattle did and retained the names when the teams left. I guess back then nobody cared.

I am pulling with all my heart for Los Suns to win.

Classy group of guys, gutsy political statement on Cinco de Mayo.

F*** the state of Arizona.... but viva Los Suns!
