OK but seriously who would randomly buy a house in Highland Park unless they were planning on living and working in Chicago.

Buying a house in Highland Park is not like buying a house on South Beach or Beverly Hills. Highland Park is for the upper class in the Chicago area to buy a huge plot of land, build a huge house and settle down and live there. If he wanted to buy a place in Chicago to have when he comes into town, he'd buy a penthouse in the Gold Coast or Streeterville.

Also, I just read this on the RealCavsFans board, and thought I could stir the pot the other direction a little bit. It's obviously just as valid of a source as anything else:

I cant link because it is premium content. But the OSU insider over at Ohiostate.scout.com has made an announcement on Lebron over the insider forum there. He occasionally ventures outside of the realm of college football to make calls on other topics.

This guy is usually very plugged in to the sports world. He has connections to vegas and a ton of connections all around the sports world. He usually hits about 90 percent of Ohio State football's verbals before they announce.

He was extremely plugged in on the issues surrounding USC during their scandals and revealed a lot of that stuff before it was revealed on yahoo.

In short this guy usually bats around 90 percent or so on his calls. And as of two days ago, from a source as close to Lebron as could possibly be without being Lebron.

He said Lebron isnt going anywhere. It will be a tremendous news event. Lebron is happy to have his name in the papers and on ESPN. He wont stop it. He will make a spectacle of his announcement.

But he isnt going anywhere. Biggest non news story of the summer.

My apologies if this was brought up because I saw the OP was yesterday, but I've read a ton of these pages and didn't see anything.

Makes me think about whether this whole thing is a huge ruse by LeBron to get attention. All these random unverified things happening (LeBron looking for a house in Chicago/LeBron's team wearing bulls gear, etc) Could LeBron just be playing puppetmaster because he thinks its fun and then come July 1, psych everyone out by staying in Cleveland?

Yeah but that's Utah. There is outdoorsy stuff to do in Utah. The Winter Olympics were held there. He owns the Delta Center (figuratively). There ain't nothing to do in Highland Park but live peacefully, and drive to the Berto Center.

Deerfield is where the Bulls practice too, and its like a 10min drive from HP to Deerfield. Plus the houses he was looking at are huge and on/near the beach

FWIW, in that Cavs insider thread they are claiming that the Nevada Buck guy now says that Brown is out and Cal is in in Cleveland and that Lebron will be back.

I suppose we'll see.

The URL says it's in a directory called January 2007, although that obviously doesn't necessarily mean anything...
