big trade with IND

Post#1 » by Sebzor » Wed May 19, 2010 10:46 am

Okay, we didn't luck out and get a top2 pick (so probably no E. Turner)
MIN picks: 4th/16th/23rd/45th/56th
IND picks: 10th/40th

2thoughts of how the trade can go:

1) 4th pick is a post
A. Jefferson/R. Gomes/R. Sessions/16th/45th
-for: T. Murphy/T. Ford/10th
MIN draft: 4th: D. Cousins (C)/10th: X. Henry (SG)/23rd: D. Ebanks (SF)/56th: A. Ogilvy (C)
IND draft: 16th: E. Bledsoe (PG)/40th: J. Jordan (C)/45th: S. Collins (PG)

Build around: Flynn-Rubio-Henry-Ellington-Brewer-Ebanks-Love-Cousins

2) 4th pick is a wing
A. Jefferson/R. Gomes/R. Sessions/W. Ellington/16th/23rd/45th/56th
-for: T. Murphy/T. Ford/R. Hibbert/10th/40th
MIN draft: 4th: W. Johnson (SF)/10th: C. Aldrich (C) or X. Henry (SG)/40th: J. Varnado (PF)
IND draft: 16th: D. Orton (C)/23rd: E. Bledsoe (PG) or A. Johnson (PG)/45th: D. Pittman (C)/56th: L. Harangody (PF)

Build around: Flynn-Rubio-Johnson-Brewer-Love-Varnado-Hibbert-(Henry or Aldrich)

I would prefer Jefferson for Prince + #7.

Those are both just awful.
Jefferson is worth more than a jump from 16 to 10. If he can get us to 5, that is a different story.
Murphy and Ford have no value to us.

I think we would be taking a giant step backwards with both of those trades. The value just isn't there for us.

what if i change it around to:
J. Flynn/R. Gomes/R. Hollins/16th/45th/56th
-for: T. Ford/R. Hibbert/10th

Open up PG spot for Rubio when Ford comes of books (Sessions starts until then)
Hibbert starts @ C and Love/Jefferson rotate at PF (Al can play some C), let Milicic walk (if too expensive)
Because u have the big man rotation set (maybe add a vet C for cheap for extra cover)
Draft: W. Johnson (@ 4) & X. Henry (@ 10), you're wings are set (Brewer-Johnson-Henry-Ellington)

Let the team grow together a couple of years

Flynn/Gomes/Hollins for Ford/10 might be something we'd consider if we like Henry that much at 10.

I don't know about Hibbert for 16, I prefer Darko and whomever we draft at 16.

Henry could very well drop to 16. No need to trade Flynn for Trajan Langdon 2.0. (ok, a little hyperbole here, still a little annoyed... but you get my point.)
