Teams with capspace and high picks at 3 and 4? Neither of which are possible Bosh S&T landing spots(MIN cuz it's MIN and NJN cuz it's in TOR's division).
Connection? I'm leaning towards yes. I've also been called nuts once or twice.
You can imagine that when the TOR representatives at the lottery didn't get a 3 or 4 to replace Bosh, they might have said something that yahoo picked up.
I've always said that while there is a 0% chance we could get LeBron, there may be only a slightly better chance we get Bosh, simply because he said he wants to go someplace to be "the man." I don't think it would be MIN though. I also don't see how HOU or POR could get our #4, but maybe some 3-teamer with Aaron Brooks + #12, or this year's Sergio/RudyF/Batum? I'm not seeing it.
Bosh is already THE MAN in Toronto. He even loves the city. The main issue is losing ... He wants to win ASAP.
So basically, being the man & win is his main objective right now, IMHO. If he can't get that, he'll settle for being the 2nd man on a contender.
Years of losing get to everyone. Especially considering all other stars from his draft class are always in the playoffs ...
Bottom line: chances of getting Bosh are pretty much at 0% too. It's almost as bad as Knicks fans dreaming of getting him without first signing another top FA (LeBron). He simply won't sign if that team is not assured of being really competitive, not even with the Knicks.
With all that said, Timberwolves are in a very nice position to build a very good team ... but it'll take a few years to get there. With a bit more lottery-luck that would've come sooner, but I still like the options ...
