What Would Your Offer Be for Jack + #13

Post#1 » by Rapsobsessed7 » Wed May 19, 2010 3:09 am

now im curious to what you guys would offer for Jarret Jack + the #13 pick. What could we get with that? Im picking you because i look around at the teams that need a PG and i see.

Atlanta: Bibby is done
Los Angeles: Nothing to offer
Indiana: Jacks already been there
Charlotte: Augustin? Id need more than that
Washington: Now has Wall
New York: Nothing really

so if we offered you Jack + #13 + Expiring (if you wanted a way to dump Bibby) what could that bring us back? Id be interested a lot in Smith? Dont know if you do that but hed be perfect and you could get a C to move Horford to PF. Or draft a SG and pick up a C with #24. If not what would be your offer?

I don't see anyone who stands out in the 13 range to make me part with Josh Smith or Al Horford. The only players of note we could trade are Marvin Williams who's BYC status might not make it work and Jamal Crawford. I don't think I part with Jamal in such a deal either.

Josh Smith and Horoford are off limits unless you're dealing Bosh in a SIGN & TRADE.
(Rule #1 of basketball: never trade a big for a small.)

The rest of our roster is open, though i doubt we'd give up much for either Jarrett or the #13 pick.

we wouldnt do it for Crawford because it doesnt address any of our needs. Id do it for only Horford or Smith. Could anything be added to sweeten it? Like taking your bad contracts (Bibby) or something for expiring ones + maybe a young guy like Belinelli added?

Or what about Turkoglu + #13 for Williams + Evans + #24?

Players could be there at #13:
- Hassan Whiteside
- Xavier Henry
- Ekpe Udoh
- Pattrick Patterson
- Daniel Orton
- Donatas Motiejunas
- Ed Davis (if his workouts dont go as planned he could drop more)

so none of those interest you for Smith or Horford? Jack i thought would even out the value and taking Bibby

Belinelli + Jack + #13 + Evans for Smith/Horford + Bibby

either would be good with me. Dont know if your owner is willing to pay that much because getting Bosh means keeping Joe too.

Would you do Turk +#13 for Williams + Evans + #24?

That way you pick up Henry and remain competitive.

Why would we eat Turk's bad contract just to move up 11 spots? Your trade offers are being ridiculous.

Evans plans to opt out and therefore can't be traded. Turk and Williams are both at their lowest trade values given their respective seasons, so I give you points for fairness, but Williams is BYC until July 1st so we couldn't accept that much salary.

Quick breakdown on the players you tried to tempt us with:
- Hassan Whiteside - Intriguing but still a project
- Xavier Henry - I'm not sold that he's drastically better than the SGs that will be available at 24.
- Ekpe Udoh - I like him, but not enough to take on Hedo's contract.
- Pattrick Patterson - Does little for me given our roster.
- Daniel Orton - Also a project, but has bulk to be another Kendrick Perkins.
- Donatas Motiejunas - I'm not familiar enough to know whether he's more Dirk or Darko.
- Ed Davis (if his workouts dont go as planned he could drop more) - Oh god no. I wouldn't touch Davis.

At 24, we could possibly luck into Orton, Alabi, Seraphin among the bigs or Warren, Pondexter, Elliot Williams or Crawford as SGs or potentially Bradley or Bledsoe at PG. While 13 offers a better selection of picks it is well outside the sure fire range. We just don't match up for a trade at this time.

Belinelli + Jack + #13 + Evans for Smith/Horford + Bibby

I think most Atlanta fans don't see Jack as this great player who is going to make us a lot better. Getting a backup (which Jack is, hate to break it to you) and 13 is not worth giving up Smith or Horford. Bibby's isn't this horrible contract that Atlanta fans are willing to do anything to get rid of. If we can get rid of him cheaply, then do it. If it is going to cost us Smith and Horford while we would be getting back a lot less talent, then no way.

I'd love to have Jack, but Marvin or a S&T of Childress is really the only thing the Hawks have to offer....

yeah these trade offers are stupid. Horford/Smith are NOT going anywhere unless we are getting Bosh or Lebron.

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but yeah, we aren't trading Smith or Horford for a late lotto pick and a fringe starter solid backup (Jack).

Who else is available that you would give up Horford or Smoove for?

I actually don't plan on trading them... especially b/c S&T's for players that can sign wherever they want tend to be rare. I could also see trading Smith in a larger deal that brought in two solid starters or a solid starter and a high draft pick. It all depends on the JJ resigning IMO.

Let's say Joe Johnson wanted to sign in Toronto... how about Jack + 13 and and expiring like Evans for him? What would you guys say to that?

Demar DeRozan, Jarret Jack, #13, and Evans for S&T Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby.

#1 - Salaries don't work

#2 - JJ isn't going to Toronto
