That's because the Knicks have no marketable players. LeBron wouldn't be like that. Here is way for me to illustrate what I'm trying to convey: I believe that if LeBron were a Knick, his jersey would be #1 on the list.
I agree that LeBron doesn't need NY to market himself. I'm saying that he would be able to market himself as mega-star +1 instead of "mere" mega-star if he were in New York.
