This all fits into the rumor from earlier this week that somebody on this board was taking a shower and Lebron poked his head in to ask about about the water pressure and the number of bathrooms.

IT ALL FITS!

That was Waffle. I wonder if he is the neighbor on the left:

That house is actually on the market too. $5,570,000. Bosh and LeBron could be neighbors...

Bosh doesn’t want to be second option to anyone. If there’s an $8,000,000 house across the street he’ll buy that.

Yeah.. that secondary house could probably house LeBron's entire "team" anyway. I'm sure that's the direction he goes.

ok, I'm officially bored. So what else is there to do but conduct a little housing search for our friend LeBron. Here is what I found for the young man. If he wants to be in Deerfield that is..

That's exactly where LBJ will play. The starting 5 would be Rose-James-Deng-Gibson-Noah. That team can score, rebound, block shots, defend and run the court. Just get some 3 point specialist off the bench and this team is winning the title next year.

I'm sorry, and I hate to borrow a quote from Cowherd, but "say this out loud":

"Sure Lebron, we'll take you, but one of the conditions that we have is that you move to the SG spot, and play out of position, in order to make room for Luol-freaking-Deng."

Sorry, but that's pretty far out there. Lebron is not coming to Chicago to play out of position just because we have Luol Deng on the roster. Luol will be the one adapting, NOT the other way around.

Basketball is different from football or baseball position wise. We would be starting two SF and LBJ would just cover the more athletic/quicker of the two. Cowherd is a extremist IMO. He goes overboard on a lot of things but that's why people tune in.

Basically the Bulls would sell LBJ on Rose, Deng and Noah being the supporting cast he needs, if he agrees he signs, if he doesn't he won't but his decision would have nothing to do if he covers Ray Allen or Shawn Marion.

Craig Ehlo was on the radio and even he said it, put LBJ with Rose, Noah and Deng and that is scary.

If we get LeBron....

We add James Anderson and a free agent 3-point specialist (Korver, Morrow, Frye, Q-Rich, etc) and have Hinrich work on becoming a 3-point/defensive specialist this offseason, and all the sudden we're a pretty damn good 3-point shooting team. That doesn't even factor in Deng working on his 3 ball, and Rose improving as well.

Regardless, I'm not from Cleveland, and a Bulls fan, and think he's wrong. LeBron is already a mega star. No doubt about it. And he always will be. But he'll be a bigger megastar in New York than he can be anywhere else. That's just a fact. New York, with the possible exception of Paris, is the most prestigious city in the world. And when it comes to athletics, its the biggest by far.

We might not like it, but New York is the gravitational center of the sports universe. It is perceived that way, and it is covered that way. The New York Knicks, as an organization, perfectly illustrates this. Despite a complete lack of relevence and success, they are one of the most globally talked about, famous franchises on the planet and have been my entire sports-watching life (which is over 20 years old). That is because of the words "New York" not the word "Knicks."

Look at Albert Pujols as another example. He is a LeBronian type of baseball player. And, though he does not play in a market the size of Chicago, he plays for the second most storied franchises in the sport, that has a HUGE national following. And he can't eve sniff Derek Jeter's fame and popularity. Can you imagine how big Pujols would be if he were a Yankee?

Yes, LeBron is soooooo big that he overcomes a lot of this regionalism. But he'd be even bigger in New York. That's just the way it is. And if he bases his decision on notoriety moreso than victory, there is absolutely no question at all he'll go to New York. And he'll be right to, if those are his primary goals.

while the stuff about notoriety may or may not be true (I don't necesarily see Lebron getting bigger as a star in the USA in NY than he would be in say Chicago), the real issue is how Lebron is seen worldwide. The key here is going to be Nike. Overseas, especially in China, Kobe is way larger than Lebron because Kobe wins. And Nike sells more Kobe shoes overseas because Kobe wins. If Nike has any say so about where Lebron plays, it will be for who Nike considers the best team that can win sooner. If Business and money matters if you will. I'm not discounting what Lebron can earn for himself locally in NY state, because he can pitch lots of things there in NY state and make money for himself. But he will make more money for Nike if he does NOT play in New York.

Craig Ehlo is weighing in now? How about Dale Ellis? Have we heard his thoughts on the subject yet? What about Cedric Maxwell? Personally I don’t put stock in anything until John Crotty gives his thoughts.

i have no inside sources. but my brother has a friend who lives in highland park who emailed him that inside source says lebron to bulls, bosh to bulls for deng and hinrich. my brother said "your full of it, where did you hear it?" the response was "i cant reveal my source". my bro said, "we'll see". the guy said "I know someone who knows someone who works with the bulls. He seems to be pretty reliable. We'll see what happens. It would be awesome!". i will say, i know this friend of my bro and he is a professional who is not a gossip or wierdo.

would be great, but take it for what its worth, and that is no more reliable than all of the twitter nonsense out there every day.

The Argument Golic made after Ryan was on, was spot on. He was saying that he disagreed with Ryan that if Lebron wants to blow up his image he has to go to NY. In Fact Golic sounded annoyed and said NY isn't going to get an Endorsement deal lebron couldn't get anywhere else and i totally agree. NY makes a difference for a mid level star but when you're the best player in the NBA, you're going to be big time as long as you win and as long as you continue to play the way you're playing. I'm still skeptical and still dont buy Lebron being a bull but compared to Miami, Chicago's positives outweigh Miami's positives when it comes to sports. If he wants to play in front of packed crowds he should go to Chicago, if he wants a better team situation both now and long term he goes Chicago.

I don't agree. By the way, Golic is from Cleveland.

I disagree with the Jeter / Pujols comparison. If anything, you are making a case for Lebron going to Chicago. Jeter has 5 world series titles and plays for the most prestigious team in sports. Pujols has one for a team that has a nice, but nothing special history (sorry, no one really cares about the Cardinals). Pujols also has the personality of a piece of granite while Jeter is banging models nightly.

I think the Yankees are the thing that confuses people about NY. They are hugely popular. When they go on the road, you will see massive numbers of people wearing Yankees gear and rooting for them in other people's parks. New Yorkers seem to think that has something to do with NY. It doesn't. Its because they have won a bazillion world series titles (Ok, 22) with very personable people, like Mantle, Dimaggio, Reggie Jackson, etc. You don't see people rooting for the Giants or Mets or Knicks on the road anything like this. Dallas Cowboys? Sure do, for the same reason why the Yankees are popular, not because Dallas is a major metropolitan area.

I'll put it this simply. Lebron would be much bigger winning 3+ titles in Chicago than winning 0 in NY. Much, much, much bigger. If your argument is that Lebron would be bigger winning 4 titles in NY than winning 4 titles in Cleveland, I won't disagree.

yep I agree, espcially with the bolded portion. As I noted previous, Nike sells more shoes overseas if Lebron plays for a winner. Winning counts more than the east coast media in Nike shoe sales. We have to decide 2 things in order to make a prediction:

-can Lebron win, and win quickly in NY
-How much sayso does Nike have over Lebron

Very Very Very Good Point +1

Not to mention, Patrick Ewing was one of the biggest knick stars in recent years, how did his endorsement deals go. He was one of the best Centers ever but yet his name wasn't huge.

True story. "lol" is named after Craig's face, conveying he actually thought he had a chance to guard Jordan. It's short for "Ehlo, Ehlo, Ehlo."

Return to Chicago Bulls
