I've read some very very optimistic posts in this thread.. Forget it Minny, we are just way too much excited about Turner.. We won't slip him..

Im not attempting to troll whatsoever - Im just passing along info from our guy for those of you who dont frequent our board

"Bad rumors. Zero percent chance we trade with Minny. We want Turner as bad as Minny does. They would have to severely severely overwhelm us for us to even consider."
"Our goals are to build over time a championship caliber team that can compete year in and year out, and that doesn’t happen overnight.”

They won't deal Turner for the same reason we wouldn't if we were sitting in that spot which makes me cry like a little girl that we're not sitting in that spot...

I have serious doubts that Philly will pass on Turner, too, but at the same time, it's really early in the draft process.

Philly definitely needs upgrades in the front court (probably even more than they need wing help), so if either Favors or Cousins (or both) is an absolute beast in workouts and measure out to be more athletic than projected, it's at least a possibility that Turner (or Favors) will drop to us, or that a trade could be worked out between our teams.

so my thought is that say there is no way in hell we give up our number 2 pick - could you get a deal done for the number 1 instead?- and say the wizards are willing to deal it would you then still go for turner or go for wall? Wall is the better prospect but if your FO loves turner and since you have flynn and rubio is it that hard to believe you would select turner over wall? thats why Im happy with the #2 pick - no matter what everyone else does we get wall or turner

The only hope we have is that Turner doesn't wow and is too "safe" ala Roy and Cousins/Favors combine results/potential cause teams to fall in love with them ala Marvin Williams. Even then we've still got NJ sitting at 3.

The worst part is we're going to hear "talk" of Philly looking elsewhere just like when the Bulls were considering Beasley, the Heat considering Mayo, etc.

youre right - obviously this is all just mental mastur...... you know what, but thats why the draft is so much fun

and yes the majority of us want turner but there are a few that want to address the frontcourt with that pick - I of course am the former - I would like to have us take turner with the 2 and then somehow trade a young prospect to get back into mid first round - those who want a frontcourt player at the 2 pick justify it by saying we need someone to combat Dwight Howard but I believe you can find a perkins type big guy to match up against howard elsewhere (whether its using a newly traded for midround pick or a vet) - obviously this is all just 100% pure speculation but thats what the draft is all about

I think this is stating the obvious, not trolling. The bottom line is that the only way to rationalize a Turner to the Wolves scenario is through Lloyd Christmas "So you're telling me there's a chance" level optimism.

I wonder if any of their posters would consider a Cousins + Wes Johnson (via Love) for Turner.

Or they could just hire Doug Gottlieb as their GM. Earlier today he had them taking Johnson at #2 overall, and engineered a scenario where Turner fell to #4. Hell, the Nets and Sixers should both hire him as the first dual GM in league history.

You won't slip him what? Ecstasy? I feel bad you guys have Stefansiki for a GM. I'm sure he'll find a way to screw this up.
