Boy we have no luck. last night youkalis bloops a two run hit, tonight, the rays bloop a two run double, and with bases loaded jeter bounces out on a bad pitch ahead in the count 3-1.. I mean a base hit and we are back in this game big time.. I am still conviced we are the best team in the east when healthy... rays will run on you for sure, but I am not that impressed with that lineup full of .218 and .185 hitters...

AJ did a horrible job of letting them on base in the first place and then not holding them close.. he should have at least balked like the rays pitcher did when they "picked off" gardner..

dude, stop with the panicking and overrateting the rays .. I mean they are not this good , meaning how we lost tonight.. and their pitching is good, but stop with the Stacked... garza and shields are nice but neither would be a #1 pitcher on our team... they have some depth in their pen, but just stop... they are playing well and above their heads a bit right now... we will see....

The Rays are a great team and definitely for real. I'm not going to have a knee-jerk reaction that no one on the team cares because they lost a game to a good team. Odds are we come back tonight, split the series, and go beat the Mets brains in this weekend. We're still better than Tampa, but we need to get some of our important players back in the lineup. Our outfield is downright pitiful right now with Winn and Thames playing every day - and there's a good chance Thames will be out for a week or two with that rolled ankle.

What's important at this juncture is to make sure our starting pitching staff stays on track and get Joba and Mo back into the flow of the game. With those two struggling that pen goes from a strength to a weakness. I'm not worried about either of them long-term (Mo does this every year, blows two games in a row and then settles down) but the bridge to him isn't very good - Robertson's been shaky, Logan sucks, Marte looks like garbage, and Chan Ho Park won't cut it in the Bronx.

The only thing to panic about is the injury bug. If this team can hold on and keep the race close, they can take the division when healthy. Even if they dig too big a hole, a healthy Yankees team in the postseason is all I'm worried about. Right now, you have to look at our makeshift OF and bottom of the line-up and think...we've still been winning. Our Bullpen looks like hot garbage but Chan Ho Park is still getting back, Rivera has the same problem, Joba needs to get it all re-figured out and we need one of our lefties to step up...I think about how bad we looked early last season and I'm not panicked.

Thank you for not panicking over a 2 game losing streak against our division rivals while the end of our lineups consists of Cervelli-Thames-Miranda-and Winn.

Mo and Joba will be fine. And as he said, we need Marte to step up and pitch like he did in the playoffs last year and we need one of Park or Robertson to come back to pitch the way they're capable of pitching and the bullpen will be fine.

Sure, the Rays probably won't win 100 plus games, but they are one of the 2 best AL teams.

They rely on defense, speed, a bullpen pitching very well, and maybe one of the best YOUNG rotations in baseball. That's a tough combo to beat in any 4 game series.

Sure, the Rays don't have the Yankees firepower, but they are hard to beat because of their versatility in how they play the game.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability
