Real Madrid expected to sign Cavs Kaun

Of course Cavs have other priorities at the moment. But you never know when you are going to need a young center. He is very likely to get a 2-3 year deal and the Cavs might lose him forever.

Sasha Kaun, the rock that Madrid wants for 10-11 season

Regal Barcelona, Olympiacos, CSKA and Partizan players were last weekend in Paris at the Euroleague Final Four, but there were other guests at this event in search of future signings. Among them, Real Madrid. And a player is in their sights: Sasha Kaun. Tall, young and living in Moscow, where Messina still part of his sweetheart.

Kaun (08.05.1985, 2.13) fell in the semifinals to Barça, but he was the best player of CSKA. He almost grabbed a double-double (nine points and 10 rebounds) in 34 minutes. This is his second season at CSKA after finnishing his education in the United States: high school at Florida Air Academy and College in Kansas (NCAA champion in 2008). In the Euroleague he has averaged 9.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He was a rock, and a good complement to Tomic, blocked well and went strong after rebounds. Maceiras Antonio, director of basketball the whites, was at the Palais Omnisport de Paris-Bercy. The club has been interested in Kaun, who still has a contract season in Moscow.

While he's certainly not as important as other happenings, we wouldn't want to have him stay there long term. A one year deal (or multi-year deal with a clause where he could get out after one year) would be fine, but I wouldn't be happy if he signed a straight up multi-year deal. We need young centers, and Kaun isn't half bad- still needs improvement, but could be a backup center in a year or two.

Don't think he'll come to NBA just for a year.

I'm saying stay one more year overseas, not come to the NBA for one year.

If he comes to the NBA, it should be to stay, not for one year. (duh)
