^^I don't have a link for that right now. Because I made it up. But it would be so cool if true.

I saw that on Delonte's mom's twitter page. I'm one of her 3 fans

Rose made the guarantee we'd be in the playoffs. Then we made it. In the video he says next year we'll be a legit team... Think about it

This is the actual cleveland reporter who reported that Lebron was in Chicago on Monday. If you read realcavsfans message board there were also numerous reports that Lebron was spotted Monday evening in a cleveland mall. So who knows, maybe he was in Chicago in the morning and back in Cleveland in the evening, or this is all BS!

Here is also another link reporting Lebron was in Highland Park. This guy also broke the Delonte WEst/ Gloria James story (which at first sounded like bs, but might now actually be true).

Seems like nobody has talked about the rumorpress post and Doug's blog entry...

Rumorpress:

Lebron Talk: No doubt, the Bulls number 1 free agent target will be LeBron James. On July 1st, the organization will make an all out push to grab the reigning MVP of the league, but they will not wait forever. The organization fears LeBron will drag on the process of deciding where to go. Rumor has it LeBron will toy with several teams and will wait long past July 1st before deciding ultimately where to go, while other top free agents sign with teams. This could ultimately leave the Bulls with nothing, and LeBron could very easily resign with Cleveland. I've been told the Bulls will give LeBron a short window to sign with the Bulls, otherwise the team will quickly turn its attention to Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade or Joe Johnson to secure a top player.

Dude sounds pretty confident. I used to think that rumor was total BS, but after hearing that it sounds like it's true.

Shogun12 wrote:One thing I haven't seen discussed much, but I think is worth mentioning, is the international business implications associated with LeBron James signing with the Chicago Bulls.

Anyone who has traveled extensively internationally or lived abroad, knows well that there is incredible nostalgia for the Jordan-led teams of the 1990's and the Chicago Bulls brand is very strong. In fact, I can't recall how many conversations I've had over the last decade with people in places as far-ranging as Japan to Croatia to Spain to Germany about how that Bulls dynasty introduced them to the NBA and how they would stay awake at odd hours of the night and early morning to watch Jordan and Pippen battle the various foes of the era (New York, Portland, Seattle, Utah, etc).

In an ever-globalizing world, LeBron coming to Chicago and attempting to emulate Jordan's success could recapture the imagination of a great number of fans both domestically and internationally. I'd even go as far as to predict that LeBron would lead the league internationally in jersey sales and NBA ratings throughout Europe would exponentially grow with him in a Bulls uniform. Of course, more international exposure for LeBron means increased commercial opportunities. Athletes like Michael Schumacher, David Beckham, and Roger Federer have made tens of million in endorsement deals in just Europe over the past 5-10 years.

Before anyone mentions New York.. They too, are an international city and offer increased marketing opportunities, but on paper, are a much riskier option due to less overall basketball talent. For an athlete entering his limited prime years, that matters.

In the end, I don't think the story of LeBron in New York City would be as compelling internationally, as LeBron in Chicago. This might be a unique and positive twist on the "LeBron caught in Jordan's Shadow" talk, but I firmly believe LeBron can best achieve his basketball and business aspirations (which are inherently tied together) most effectively in Chicago.

Finally someone else gets this

I have brought this up on a few seperate occasion s over the course of the last several months with basically no reply

The Chicago Bulls is an international brand thanks to Michael Jordan... a brand that has been chronically underleveraged since MJ left ( due to lack of real talent of relevance )

Lebron to the Bulls would explode globally ..much much more than Lebron remaining a Cav or being a Knick

Lebron as a Kick is a domestic story . even quite an insular one.

Lebron to Chicago is a genuine international story

And the icing on his Asian cake is acquiring Yi Jianlian .

I became a Bulls fan ( as an Australian ) ...because one of my countrymen was playing with the greatest player in the game ) . Its the same premise behind acquiring Yi if you trust people are people and will buy/support a product more when an element of national pride is also in the mix. Lebron and the Bulls would be successful enough in Asia I would asssume without Yi - but as I said - its the icing on the cake.

There are $22,000,000 Australians.

There are hundreds of millions of Chinese and probably like half a billion Asians

Big basketball loving market that.

If its not - it should be a major piece of the puzzle for James Inc.

Although Shogun.... where I slightly disagree with you is in the reference of strength in the European Market

Europe is broke

Asia ....well that's another story ( save for the Thai market :) )

I agree completely with re 2 posters above. MJ put the Bulls on the international map. If Lebron wants to become a global sports icon he first and foremost has to win it all. His best shot at winning and becoming a global icon would be to join the Bulls. Winners get noticed. Hopefully LBJ makes the right choice cause from reports the Bulls FO will not wait for him. I'm sure the Bulls will go hard in acquiring Lebron but if he decides to delay I have no problem with the Bulls getting Bosh or Wade(highly unlikely). I can't wait for July 1st.

Greece is broke and that weakens the value of the Euro, but other than that the European Union managed the financial crisis pretty well(except for England and Ireland) . Inflation rate and real estate prices remained relatively stable. Sure the economy took a hit, but it's not as severe as it is in the US.

Thanks this is actually probably the first legit sounding source. So it looks like Lebron was indeed in Chicago, the source must be really close to Lebron if he kept emphasizing how legit the source was.

I dont know if i buy the whole Lebron was at a mall thing, i mean who said it.. A poster on a board?

Multiple posters on the RealCavs board, and apparently confirmed by their "insiders."

Even if it's true, it could be people getting their days mixed up and such.

That said, there's nothing short of pictures of him in Highland Park that is going to convince me that this story is true at this point. It's way too cliche and strangely soon.

I find it telling that Toronto fans are very clear in their disdain for trying to play Deng as a four or a two, due to already having Hedo, but plenty of Bulls fans are anxious to try and shove square pegs into round holes just to keep Luol here, even despite us getting the best player in the game at his position.

I wouldn't want Deng and Hedo either. Its a terrible combination because Deng is of marginal size and strength as a 4, and Hedo can't defend his shadow, is weak sister, and has no business playing any minutes at the 4 spot.

Deng/LeBron is a completely different dynamic because they can both defend at a high level, and LeBron is of massive size and strength.

The Bulls already run Lu at some 4 and have had success. LeBron also runs some 4 successfully for Cleveland. Its not ideal, but it would work just fine. Moreover, Chicago has Taj to round out a 3 man forward rotation. It would work.

Just like, to a lesser extent, Hedo/LeBron wouldn't be all that bad either. If you asked Toronto fans if they could team Hedo and LeBron, instead of Hedo and Deng, I dare say you'd get some very different responses. Because LeBron is what makes it so different.
