Sad Signs Of The Times - the Grief Thread

I tell you folks....these are some slow, sad days in Bobcat's Land. I look at the board, and what are we doing? No offense to anyone engaged in these threads or activities, but It seems a little absurd:

Couple that with LB's unknown status and the real potential of losing at least one key player, and this offseason is really a downer

What is the purpose of this thread? We've been discussing ideas for generating board activity in the OT thread, don't see any of your excellent suggestions there. Don't see any excellent suggestions here. Just bitching.

We've done the War Room for what... 4 seasons now? Slam, Fats and I discussed whether we should do it or not and for tradition's sake decided we ought to. I've done my best to get people posting in the thread, but I think a lot of posters are burnt out and like me, don't have much of an opinion on the prospects because they weren't watching them because they knew we wouldn't have a pick.

There isn't much news to discuss right now, we've already had you and Mutombo's "See, tolda ya we did this, this and this wrong" thread, everyone has chimed in on Tyrus and Ray... are you watching the playoffs, I don't remember reading a post of yours in the chatter thread.

I would love for there to be a variety of opinion here... I guess yours is that the board is dead right now? That's not an opinion, that's a fact. There isn't much to talk about. Happens every season.

the most significant changes that could happen to this team are Felton and Tyrus. If we have the same team returning for 2010-11 with LB as the head coach, I think we can be one of the best teams in the east and maybe win a playoff series.

Wow, lot's of hate, sorry I brought the woe guys....

I'll stop posting any negative reflections, as this would appear to be a forum only for "HAPPY CAMPERS" who promise to swallow the club drug. Believe me, I'm not that negative a guy....I'm just wanting to see this team take steps to contend versus tread water. We got into the playoff pool this year, and that was great. Now the reality sets in, and you have to ask...how much further can we go with this squad, with no draft pick, with no cap room? The blow it up thread was worthy of discussion, but it's come and gone for now.

Again, apologies for sounding like an a** to some of you. I'll relate this team's situation to song. Believe me, I'd love to hammer out some soaring riffs on a tune that makes me think of power, speed and style. But when I think of our team's prospects, my music goes straight to the blues. Now I still love the team, but what's wrong with wanting the plan to be winning a championship versus just getting by?

Well it's not like we have tons of things to discuss now, we have to wait for the free agency to start. As for the War Room, I don't post in it or vote because I'm unable to watch NCAA games.

I think we'll get things going once the playoffs are over.

its ok to be negative. every board needs a curmudgeon, right? its ok to be sad about the direction of the team, sad about having no picks and no money. but to start a thread seemingly for the purpose of mocking some threads that a few posters are enjoying, just seemed a bit much.

obviously many of us enjoy hanging out on this board, even in the summer, even when we have no picks, no cap space and nothing really to talk about. thats why we try to find topics, games, polls etc... that will keep posters engaged during summer, rather than having everyone part ways for 4 months.

you're right, there is nothing bobcats related to discuss really. but rather than getting sad and attacking other threads because you find them boring, you should offer up something interesting for us to discuss, whatever the topic may be.

i cant believe i forgot jaco pastorius and chris squire. i am not really familiar with james jamerson (just googled him - wow - motown master it seems. i probably have him on 100s of records and never realized it.)

i saw stanley clarke live back in the 90s. he was playing with larry carlton and a couple of other jazz masters (i cant seem to remember who else - maybe peter erskine on drums??) anyway... he was freaking sick.
