Who moves up and who moves down in the workouts
So which guys do you think will explode up the ranks or slide down due to poor/great workouts. Every year players get taken before or after workouts and measurements. Here is mine
Demarcus Cousins = Down
I think his lack of athletic ability will really show up in workouts. I don't really seeing him drop very far, but could see him being passed by a player like Johnson.
Ekpe Udoh = Down
HIs age and strength will be highlighted by all the younger players coming in for the same workouts
Donatas Motiejunas = Up
Tall, can shoot, dribble and pass well. He is tailor made for workouts.
Damion Jones = Down
Tweener will be asked to show his shooting and ball handling to be able to play small forward but will struggle.
Kevin Seraphin = Up
Superior athlete who will wow GM's in single workouts. I think he could go top 15, maybe even top 12.
Luke Babbitt = Up
More and more GM's are coming to realise that players like Babbit are useful to have on winning teams. He wont go in the lottery but could see a young up and coming playoff team picking him up.
Avery Bradley = Down
Is he a point guard or shooting guard? Due to lots of teams allready having point guards he will slide into the second roundand be a bargain.
Jordan Crawford = Down
Small scorer who will be shown up against bigger stronger shooting guards.
Artsiom Parakhouski = Up
HIs age will stop him moving up much but his size and skills will likely put him toward the top Of the second round.
Paulao Prestes = Down
For the same reason Kevin Seraphin will go up, Prestes will go down. He just does not have the athletic ability to be a solid player. actor in no real experiance against tough competetion and NBA teams will shy away from him.
Trevor Booker = Up
Undersized scrappers are all the rage in the NBA today. When teams see this guy throwing his body around like a ragdoll, and in workouts, well they will fall in love with this guy. I see him sky-rocketing into the bottom of the first round.
Dexter Pittman = Up
His size is intriguing and his improvement in the last two seasons make him a good bet to go up. His age will stop him from going up very far.
Mikhail Torrance = UP UP UP
Big point guard who seems to be able to go either hand as well as the other. This guy will wow scouts in individual workouts.
Luke Harangody = Down
Not very athletic, small and old = No draft respect.
Derrick Caracter = Down
Too many personal issues and not enough talent to get over them.
I know its a lot, but I wanted to get this thing going.

"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

Cousins athleticism is fine for a legit Center. He's not falling passed the T-Wolves. We are taking him and keeping him or trading him for Turner.

Re: Who moves up and who moves down in the workouts
In general I think the bigger SG's are interesting due to mis-matches, the long SF's are always exciting in terms of potential, and big men with good feet and/or good height commonly steal the show in many workouts. Specifically, I'd say these younger SF's that have the bring 7' wingspans, athleticism, and skillssets are hard to pass on ... once they develop physically, they can deliver some true value.
I think we have adequate big men ... if we are to add one, he has to be athletic and defensive at a minimum.
As long as Turner doesn't disappoint in his workouts for some reason, I've felt the Wolves will go after him since well before the draft. he just has a savy style that they could really utilize. If Johnson works out well, I think he's the backup plan ... he doesn't att ack the basket vertically, but the rest of his game is very good and he could help us spread the floor with his ability to get off lots of quality shots.

I don't think Cousins is falling past Minnesota, although whether they decide to keep him is another story. His athleticism isn't Howard-esque but he's not a stiff either and if guys like Lopez and Perkins can pull it off so can Cousins.

I do not want to repeat this everywhere, but the top 4 guys are so far ahead of everyone else it is not debatable anymore. Cousins will compete with favors but no one else. Cousins is simply too big, too good and too effective to go down.

Brook Lopez should be in mind next time somebody tries to pass on a skilled giant because he's slow as molasses

Another thing to keep in mind is how much further along Cousins is than Lopez was as a prospect coming in.

Cousins is going to refuse to do the strength test because, "he hasn't lifted much and won't start now".
Not exactly a good sign.

That's not good, but at same time, the guy doesn't lift weights but still is stronger than everyone else.

James Anderson will climb.

If Cousins seriously hit the weights once he's in NBA, like Howard did, then I see some Shaq potential in him, unlike Howard he's got real offensive skills and his rebounding is sick.

Cousins doesn't seem like he has much hops though, Shaq was real big, but he was explosive too. I see more (healthy version) Andrew Bynum in Cousins.

I think he can be dominant offensively like Shaq, Bynum doesn't seem to have the mindset to dominate his opposition.

Looks plenty athletic to me.
Look at some of his high school tapes -- really shows off his ball handling and passing skills. He would be $$$ in the triangle.

athletic enough, yea, but now look at an early shaq reel and the difference in explosion will be self evident

this is the very first time I saw Cousins play but I have to agree with Devilz on that one. he's definitively athletic but not as explosive as Shaq used to be some 20 years ago.
