Cocaine's a hell of a drug lol

We'd NEVER in a billion years do that when we can sign him outright ourself. If it ever came down to it, you'd get Lee/Yi/2011 1st (Lotto protected 2011, top 10 protected 2012, top 5 protected 2013, cash considerations if you have not received this pick in one of those drafts).

This lakers series is killing his stock. He's still a max/very close to max guy, but nobody in their right mind would S&T for him to pay him what he can get with the Suns. If he wants that money, every team will be like "Well I wish you and the Suns the best. Maybe some day you'll get past the Lakers."

A favors / Lopez frontcourt is real nasty, he compliments brook really well with athleticism and shotblocking. That could easily turn out to be the best big man combo in basketball.

E,

You'd have to check with Sham, Shrink or one of the other cap experts, but I'm pretty sure there is a pretty significant cap hold for Rubio, even if he stays in Europe this year.

A Harris for Rubio swap (not that Minny would do it IMO) creates more cap room, but not anywhere close to the $8.9 that Harris makes.

Yeah, plus I don't think Minny would have any interest in a Harris for Rubio swap.

I wish we could trade the pick for Taylor Griffin. Regardless of his knee injury, I feel he'll still be a good player and with him being a first over all, that'll surely add some talk about the Nets.

If the Clippers made Griffin available, I'd do what it took as long as we didn't grossly overpay.

At that pont, I'd actually be fine NOT making any significant moves this offseason and just going after Melo, added solid bench guys with our cap room in Summer 2011.

Realized I said Taylor and not Blake, hahahahhaha. I think we could deff. get Taylor with the 3rd pick. Color me embarassed.

But as for what you said, Lude, I think we have a GREAT shot at Melo, especially if the Knicks trade Curry to Washington for Arenas, therefore blowing their "supposed" cap space in 2011.

As smart as Donnie Walsh is, I'm almost positive they sign 2 big guys in some capacity this summer.

I truly believe we're only competing against ourselves next year for Melo if we still have the cap space. The window is definitely closing in Denver. Unless they make a big move (hey it's possible), Melo will be on the move next year and I'm literally 99% sure it's to us as long as we don't use up our cap room.

Would anyone consider trading Yi and the 3rd pick for Blake Griffin and the 8th pick?

^^^^ This

If Thorn ever got this done, this would overshadow the Vince fleecing in my book.

Even with a bum knee, Taylor has more drive and talent then Favors/Cousins combined.

Getting the #8 pick too just adds insult to injury lol.

Washington only has $25 million in salaries committed for 2011/12, plus Melo's from the Baltimore area.

FWIW: Philly is currently on the books for $41 million in 2011/12 and if they trade Iggy (him and Turner do seem a bit redundant), they can be in play as well.

That thought had not crossed my mind but its very true. Washing getting Wall is even more disastrous then initially thought. Depending how he meshes with Arenas (i think he will mesh quite well) and how their young guys develop, they might be as legit a destination for Melo as Brooklyn.

Would you do it if the nj pick were taken out, leaving just Yi/#3 for Griffin?

(hell yes imo)

I don't know. Griffin really tore his knee up and his game absolutely revolves around his athleticism and he really isn't that much better a prospect then Favors or Cousins if at all, just a different type of prospect.

That said, I'm not trying to say LAC would do that deal, it's skewed in the Nets favor, at least on paper.

^ I wouldn't do it either I feel the same way with Griffin. Also, their is the big difference in the prospect level for pick 3 and pick 8th in this year's draft. The talent level just drops from the 8th pick. I feel the tier list in this year's draft is this:

Tier 1: 1-2
Tier 2: 3-4
Tier 3: 5-7
Tier 4: 8-15

Yes I would still do it. Favors/Cousins dont have near the upside Griffin does.
