R Sessions for Donte Greene

Kings are under the cap and can absorb Sessions. I always been intrigued by Greene's size and shooting and the Flynn connection helps. Helps Kings' roster out for balance

Supposedly they were very interested in Flynn at the draft, and it sounds like Kahn did everything he could to try to make the rumored "Tyreke for Flynn + Johnson" fly, getting rebuffed when he tried to trade up for the #13, #14, and #15, and then rejected by the Kings for Flynn + Pekovic +? later.

Its hard to predict how each person values rookie PG's, since it often takes them more than a year to get their feet wet. I think Flynn would be better in SAC. If they were still interested in Flynn, I also find Green an interesting piece.

I am not really a fan. Partially because it is such a minor deal, partially because I think we will put assets into the wing position and I would rather have the flexibility.

maybe before the season starts depending on how things move around.

or if they take Gomes as part of the deal. In that case it is enough of a salary dump.

Pretty much agree with rev's post on this one.

Maybe a little. But I like Greene, so I'd probably do it assuming they've got another backup point guard there

The Kings would have no interest. Sessions+Evans? Not a fit.

I'd rather keep Sessions until Rubio comes and trade Flynn to move up in the draft. Not a lot of interest in Greene.

Minnesota should do it just for the salary dump of Sessions(Sassions will never be needed in Minnesota), and green is a nice player.

I'm kind of curious if the Wolves would be interested in dumping Sessions/Gomes for a future second rounder and pure cap space?

Certainly not out of the realm of possibility. It depends on what else we have in store with our cap space. Gomes' deal is only partially guaranteed so he'll be a good trade asset until then.

Yes I would. For the sake of fiscal and roster-spot flexibility. Gomes is not what I want at the SF and I hope we spend assets to upgrade the spot.

Sessions is a good player, but he needs to be in a P/R system like Utah in order to play to his strength. He simply does not move well enough without the ball or shoot the spot-up J well enough to be a long term player in this system. Put him on NY and he blows up.

This is the type of deal that could be both for good teams.

Both Gomes and Sessions are worth their contracts, imo. However, they aren't worth additional raw cap space to the Wolves, if they can find other uses for it.

What if it was just Sessions for a future second? What additional incentive would MIN need?

Example (LAC/MIN):
2011 Second from DET via LAC/TPE for Sessions

Do you want to take back Ryan Hollins also? It'll cost you about another 5 million over the next 2 years.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
