Is it just me is Sheridan the soooooooooooole driver behind all this Lebron/Chi-Town talk?

I mean just listen to his interview with Seth this morning on 1050 ESPNRadio. It was totally unprofessional, and biased.

It's Chris Broussard not Sheridan. Broussard is the douche that is pushing for him to go to Chi-town

Sheridan is the one guy at ESPN who is a bit more fair. Well him and Jalen Rose. Sheridan said he thinks that Walsh may have had some inside info before making the Jeffries trade.

Yea Broussard is almost going out of his way to make sure he doesn't go to the Knicks. Saying the Knicks were MJ's punching bag, EVERY TEAM was MJ's punching bag especially Craig Ehlo and the Cavs. They won 6 titles in the 90's when the Knicks were last legit. I heard Rose praise the Knicks fans today on Tierney's show on 1050. I think he's said he's in favor of LeBron coming to NY.

He's going out of his way because he knows LeBron loves NYC. LeBron is not going to let Chris Broussard tickle his toenail. Nothing that douchebag says matters at all. Particularly not to LeBron.

Something truly disgusting is going on. The timing of this and when Lebron found out scream conspiracy.
If his teammates all knew and the organization knew, why would he ever even fathom returning? And why did it come out before game 4? Spiteful, mean-spirited and 100% agenda-driven. It's like this was done on purpose to erase any love Lebron had for the Cavs, ensuring his exodus. How embarrassing this must be for the guy? All the wealth and fame in the world can't just erase that. I actually feel sorry for the man.

I agree with you. It's embarrassing and I feel for LeBron. If it's true, then at the least Delonte should be cut immediately.

I ain't wanna go there but I really believe this to be the case. His dealings with Walsh. The Chi-town rumors. The Coach Cal rumors. The stock story and the fact that it's basically a some new provison that we are one of the only (if not "only", I don't know) teams in position to offer. Walsh's loophole he spoke of during the season (I honestly believe his law background was a major lynchpin in his hire at Stern's urging, at that). Dolan's allowing Walsh complete autonomy and opening up the media policy. D'Antoni's presence as "recruiter". Eddy. Leon Rose and his dealings w/us. The un-Walsh-like trade for intern #3 (Tmac). The Knicks going out of their way not to utter "Lebron" while Lindsay Hunter is on record speaking about Chicago saying, "Lebron is our #1 target" and the Nets are promoting their season with a commercial talking about their cap room with pics of all the big free agents including Lebron at the end?? It's like we aren't trying to blow up our own spot. For all we know, these rumors are coming from the Knicks in association w/Team Lebron to throw everyone off the stench. Was the affair "encouraged" by Cav's brass? Delonte is on meds, I'm sure, no? Lebron lobbied for the team to stay with him, which they did, after the gun incident. I know I'm reaching but something really sinister is at the root of this young man's free agency and what is to follow.

I mean Chicago? The Nets? Really? And that's nothing against their talent, shoot, on paper the Clipshow have a pretty good foundation too. Dallas has an all-grown-up Gallo in Dirk to play alongside. So there are options as far as him wanting to join a team he could win multiple rings with. But if Cleveland had any team to worry about, it was known in NBA circles, it was the Knicks. Now we have a cavalcade of smokescreens, lights, mirrors, sex and videotape. GM's on record (under the condition of anonimity) saying Lebron to NY was a done deal mid-season? And that trade, that damn trade...no way does Walsh pull the trigger on the Tmac trade without inside knowledge. Wasn't Hill the insurance if David Lee left this summer? We knew he was raw but he showed signs....how do you trade your lotto pick after being on record saying the days of us trading first round picks are over? I'm not a Hill guy and the cap-space is essential so I'm so over the "bad rookie" but we were desperate to open up that other slot because Lebron was probably putting out feelers that he needed more than Gallo, Toney D. and the aforementioned "bad rookie" to feel confident specifically in his first year signing here. I mean for the ransom we payed why wasn't Eddy traded instead? I dunno, I just think that there's so much money in the mix of all this that there's no knowing what really goes on behind closed doors. ESPN insiders, experts, players and fans alike are very in the dark about this. So who's in the light?

agreed. Walsh is way too smart to make such an aggressive move without knowing something. The lawyer in him has all his tracks covered im sure. Lets be honest, wherever Lebron goes next yr there probably not going to win right away. We are the best option ...period.

DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

LeBron James' future will be debated and analyzed for the next 20 months. There are already whispers that the Knicks are the early leaders to land the potential free-agent-to-be in 2010.

One person who may have intimate knowledge about LeBron's next move is William Wesley, a close friend and adviser to the Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star. Wesley is regarded as a powerful insider among the NBA's top players and executives, with connections to everyone from Michael Jordan to James.

When asked during Wednesday's Knicks-Pistons game at Auburn Hills if he feels the Knicks are the favorite to sign LeBron in two years, Wesley smiled and said: "Barack Obama could use Donnie Walsh to clear salary-cap space for the country."

2008?

The below comment was made in November 2010. It shows that LeBron, at least as of a few months ago, was looking at this as a 2-team race. The Bulls could be in the picture now but they'd be a late entry. And even if they are in the picture now, lots of times you come back to your original choices in the end, once you've considered all the others:

“But I’ve been a Cav for seven years now and I’ve never given any indication of leaving," James said. "For me to say, ‘I’m not going to be a Knick and I’m going to be a Cav.’ Or ‘I’m not going to be a Cav, I’m going to be a Knick’ – I’m not going to do that right now because I did a three-year contract for a reason. That was to leave my options open.”

I think if the Bulls are under consideration now, they're more of a flavor of the week than a real choice. He'll come back to staying or becoming a Knick. I wouldn't be as confident in that if we didn't have the second Max slot. But we do. And ultimately, NYC and Bosh > Rose and Chicago.

And, Chicago is so close to Cleveland.... wouldn't he want to just get the hell away from there? Especially if the Delonte West rumors are true.

And the Bulls are in the Cavs' division. And it would be another slap in the face to Cleveland for LeBron to team up with the guy who said Cleveland sucks at every opportunity.

Return to New York Knicks
