Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
Thanks for the Weepies clips, BA. I've read about them and heard them but never really listened to them. You've got me pegged, bro.
Dallas - glad you saw PJ live. They put on an awesome show. They're coming here (DC area) next week but I'm probably not going to be able to make it as it's on a Thursday night. I still think about their performance at ACL last fall. Great memories.

Wow, that was something I'd never imagine. Surreal. And a great song, too.

Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
Thanks for the tip, man. And I certainly would have gone, if I were home. I'm in Providence, RI awaiting an art auction this weekend in Boston. Why not stay in Boston you ask? Well, a little known fact, Providence has legalized prostitution. And there are two for one special outcalls with 21 year old hotties with cute Boston accents. So... Ending the strip club addiction with a grand finale.

I've been aware that RI is mob run for some time. My friend that lives
up there (N Smithfield) never mentioned de facto (or otherwise) legalized
rent a ______.

There's nothing de facto about it. They passed a law allowing sex in strip clubs (not sure about the hotel room part). And as a result, all the cutest girls flooded the city (because Boston is quite uptight about such things). Anyway, back to music talk. At the end of May, I'll return to being an upright citizen.

I'm really disappointed that Muse canceled their KC show, but their bassist is having his FIFTH kid during the time period that they were going to be here (Nov. 2)
Oh well. I saw an amazing show at Mizzou last night. Local Natives. They put on a fantastic show, with a lot of energy. They have some cool harmonies, some great percussion, and I like the ambient guitar licks. They played all 12 songs from their CD that came out earlier this year called Gorilla Manor. Here are some sweet songs by them.

barelyawake, I waited a week after thinking about this post several days ago......
When I read about Lawrence Taylor it reminded me that back in my days engaging in what you've found out in Providence; I just KNEW better than dealing with folks off the street. Strip clubs that you know the police get subsidized to ignore and massage parlors that seem legit enough that "happy endings" occur on the regular were alway safer than dealing with some pimp or some random female sex for sale entrepeneur. I never had a legal problem or any trouble back then. (Morally and conscience-wise, and how I felt about women and myself .... different for me)
Now that what you're doing in Providence is legal (hey, I went to the Mustang Ranch in Reno on a trim encounter--all I can say is not worth it), I don't want to burst your bubble but to say don't let your raincoat slip or break ...
You do know that, I'm sure .... I once got careless and had a bit of grief. Last time I went with a prostitute. Was back in 1995. Luckily, it was one of those lesser STDs and not what it could have been.
PS Freddie Mercury sang a song with words to the effect "Too Much Love Can Kill You"

My favorite parts of this are at 2:31 and at 4:30.
Micheal Jackson in his prime could not command that kind of stage presence. Neither could James Brown. Prince was close back during Purple Rain times.
BEST OF ALL, HE WAS A FIGHTER HIMSELF BACK IN THE DAY and he made a great sports commercial with Nike:

Last, I think of this song in reference with my latest pre-draft man crush on DeMarcus Cousins:

Re: Resurrected unified MUSIC thread.
Thanks for the concern, CCJ. And I'm off that now. And I'm certainly safe and passed all my tests. Without getting too graphic, I got bored of the scene. I'm back to "real girls." Actually, I'm sort of waiting for this really cute concert flutist, who also loves survivalist camping, to move here. Although, there is something empowering about being able to talk a stripper back to your hotel room. The Providence thing was merely for the two girl show aspect. But, as I said, I'm off it. Thanks for the concern.

BA,
don't forget the Sonny Landreth show on Fri night.
Tom Principato opens.
if you let me know before I leave on Fri to get in line, I'll
try to save you a seat.
