Re: The Official Rebuildation Thread
I think we should draft and go hard after shooters off the bench. High % 3 point shooters that are not a liability on defense. And get AK. I'd start Yi for now and then move him to back-up C if Favors was ready to be the PF. I'd overpay for Morrow 5/6 mil, **** it, we need shooters. And go hard after Melo next year.
Harris/(Bledsoe)/(Warren)
Lee/Morrow
AK47/Twitt
Yi/Favors
Brook/Humph
Coach: Thibodeau
I think this team is a play-off contender.

Harris/Dooling
Lee/#27 (Terrico White)
Gay/T-Will
Favors/Yi
Lopez/#31 (Varnado)
Coach: Tom Thibodeau
Why? I think we have two solid scoring options in Gay and Lopez. Harris can get back to being a solid 3rd option and playing solid D and distributing more. We have solid shooters (Lee and Gay) we have a good rebounding (Favors and Lopez), a solid bench (Dooling, White, T-Will, Yi, Varnado), we would still have cap space to make another significant move (Melo), and each guy can defend their positions (Gay is an ok defender). I think this team has balance and room to grow together. It would be a fun team to watch run and defend now and into the future.
* Feel free to swap White with another shooter of your choice at #27.
No Thanks to Gay!!!!

I like the idea of drafting Bledsoe. He is one of the guys that got over shadowed with all the Wall/Cousins hype. I think he is a pour man's Devin Harris and we can get him late in the draft. I also agree with drafting shooters, but isnt Warren a headcase?
Unless AK7's contract comes with an incentive, I would rather not add anything to cap until after the trade deadline. You never know something better might come up by then.

No love for Gay SIC. I think he would fit nicely with this team. I guess it all depends on how much we have to pay him. Sure I guess we should pass leaving the spot open for Melo. Lets just run
Harris/Dooling
Lee/#27 shooter
T-WIll/CDR
Favors/Yi
Lopez/#31
Add a few veteran bench players on 1 year deals and let the kids develop. Then I think Melo is a realistic target.
demens no way Yi starts again for this team next year if Favors is the pick (which he should be) then he will start. His shotblocking and D is enough to put him ahead of Yi already.
Edit: I don't like the AK-47 pick up even if we traded nothing for him. He doesn't put us over the top. All he will do is get us into the late lottery which is not where I want to be next season. I think we need to let the young players develop. No to AK-47.

I like that line up. Is it playoff bound? I dont think so.
There are to 'IFs" I would like to add here:
1) Our new coach must really be a hard nose guy that completed changes all the dynamics of this team. For example, the coach MUST have lee come off screens.
2)I am totally for trading Harris. If we cant, Harris must really do some soul searching. If he wants to be a better team player and even return to Allstar status, Harris needs to reduce his shots, penetrate and dish, and he MUST pass the ball in the low post. This is also something the Coach has to STRONGLY address. We need a Pass First PG that can stretch opposing defenses.
3) If favors can show that he can rebound, defend, and block shots to start off, this will be the most balanced team since, can I dare say, the Finals teams.
4) If Twill can drop the attitude, he can really turn out to be MORE then solid player. He could become...
I am hyped, but if PHI takes Cousins and turner falls to us. I say trade Harris to IND for their pick and fillers to get another lottery big man.

Re: The Official Rebuildation Thread
Noone but Lebron puts us over the top. And we're not getting him so might as well add a few minor peaces and try to make the play-offs with the core that we have now.
Favors is nowhere close to NBA ready and definitely not ready to start. Since we're stuck with Yi for another year might as well play into the whole building a global team idea. With AK in the starting line-up we couldn't afford to start a totally inept offensive player like Favors, Yis shooting might come in hand. Once Favors proves he is ready i have no problem starting him, but until then we should start the season with Yi.

What would it take to acquire T-Will? I really like his game, and I think he would fit in really well at SF for the Clippers if we don't get a big name FA.

Number 3 and T-Will for Blake Griffin. Sounds fair enough. Okay, you talked me into it, its a deal.

Am I missing something here? Nothing against Blake Griffin, but I think some of you are putting way too much faith in a guy coming off of a major injury. Blake was a well-deserving #1 pick, but it's not like he had the Wall/Oden type hype as a prospect.
If I'm trading pick #3 for a young PF, I'm trading for one that has actually done something and isn't rehabbing a serious injury (ie: Horford or Love). Maybe I'm being a little too conservative here with health, but I'm certainly not throwing in TWill as well.

I'd take Horford for the #3 and run like hell.

The only problem is, neither Horford nor Love could be had for the 3rd pick. Perhaps Love could, but our defense would be even more awful than it was this year with him out there (not saying that Griffin is the Gary Payton of PFs, but...he's certainly not Love.) His shotblocking ability will never be high, due to his lack of length/standing reach, but (in my eyes) he has good man defense potential.
I respect your opinion, but I agree with you that you are being a tad conservative with health: Griffin's injury was serious (plus his prior injury), but he's such a great fit next to Brook in my eyes that I'm willing to take a chance. I'm with you there, though, about Griffin's injuries being a concern.
With that being said, my 3rd and T-Will for Griffin proposal was a joke. They would have to throw in more if I were to sign off on it. Also, you got to figure that Griffin still has a lot of hype around him due to the fact taht, well, he hasn't played yet, which might be attractive in our quest for Lebron James.

Re: The Official Rebuildation Thread
I was once high on him but forget about Gay, he's just another overrated scorer who can cripple a franchise for years with the type of money he wants.
How about we trade the pick for OJ Mayok?
Honestly I still see that 20 PPG with great D potential in that guy and he would thrive next to Harris Lopez and TWill.
Fact is he was able to average what 17 PPG next to a bunch of ball hogs like Randolph and Rudy Gay.
I think you guys are underestimating just how much value this pick has which is why we should clearly draft Cousins (guy has much more value than Favors).
The wolve's pretty much admitted that they'll have to send either Love or Jefferson and both would be great fits over here.

OJ Mayo isn't worth the 3rd, in my mind. They would have to throw in more, and that would halt discussions since I don't see Memphis doing that.
As for Gay, I really don't want him on this team. Like. Really.

I disagree, OJ has way more star potential than Turner who is pretty much a lock for #2.
Something along the lines of OJ and their pick for #3 is something we'd be fools to say no to.
As for Blake Griffin?
I'd give up just about anything we have to pair him up with Lopez but I am 50-50 on trading TWill, this kid is a solid jump shot away from star potential and defenitely has the potential to bite us in the ass in a couple of years.
Kid just totally dominated college basketball and is a perfect fit next to Lopez, that injury is probably just another case of Clipper luck.

Grffin has a higher upside then Horford and Love combined. I would do the 3rd plus Twitt for Griffin deal, i'd just want some minor addition from the Clips. A rotation bench guy or a late pick.

Would anyone be interested in 3rd overall/T Will for Steph Curry/6xth overall?
Not saying GSW would, just wanted to gauge NJ fans opinions.
