Could anyone be worse than Mike Woodson?

Eddie Jordan, VDN, a few others.

Woodson is below-average, but he's not the absolute worst.

I didn't get to watch the Hawks as closely as I have in years past. Just out of curiousity...what were Woodson's flaws as a coach?

IMHO- Woodson was not seen as a disciplinarian or not respected enough by the players to be bothered to listen to him. At times his players showed him little more than professional respect (not genuine).
VOTE Rod Strickland into the H.O.F.!!!

Hah, that's a very generous assessment.

- Gimmick switching defense that lets smart teams pick whatever matchups they want. Want LeBron guarded by Bibby? Set a screen with Mo Williams, congrats, you got it.
- Doesn't give a s*** about the offense - Woodson's words, not mine
- Extremely limited offensive sets which rely heavily on jumpshooting
- Plays at a mindnumbingly slow pace despite having a roster which clearly excels in transition but is limited in the halfcourt
- Doesn't trust rookies and can't find regular minutes for the future PG
- Hasn't ironed out lingering flaws despite being at the helm for 6 years, simply corrected things like boxing out on defensive rebounds

I've read that if Casey is hired, an offensive coach is needed. That's the same issue Woodson has. Today's coaches are just as lazy as today's players. They're not able to perform the full duty as a head coach. It looks like Casey is another lazy coach that ignores half the game. Guys like him and Woodson are the reason the NBA is pretty close to unwatchable over the last 15 years.

Hiring this nobody is just putting fresh lipstick on the pig. The Hawks offensive problems will continue.
