The Record
— Al Iannazzone

Big days ahead

The NBA trade deadline is less than two weeks away and the summit between incoming owner Mikhail Prokhorov and team president Rod Thorn is scheduled for next week during All-Star weekend.

Thorn's future is expected to be discussed in Dallas.

He's in the final year of his contract and would like the chance to return and get the Nets back on track. Some team sources believe Thorn will get that chance. But Raptors executive Bryan Colangelo or his father, Jerry, could be candidates if Thorn doesn't return.

The NBA Board of Governors is expected to approve Prokhorov in early March, but he isn't expected to take control until later next month or early April.

This means I can actually go to a game and look to the left and my right and see people cheering, yet alone even being there.

Even if the Nets show up with the same team next season ( God I hope not) I think just getting energy from a live building will make us a different team.

Thoughts on the last home game in the swamp?
Any relevance?
Is anyone going to miss the $hit hole?

I wont miss it. Ill never forget game 3 of the playoffs when we beat the Cavs, and Jkidd played his a$$ off and Frank took him out of the game to give him his moment, and I was the only one giving him a standing o, oh yeah its probably because we didnt sell out....a playoff game.

I couldnt make it to that game, but I was at game 4 of that series. I remember it like yesterday. The Nets down by 1 with 10 seconds left in the 4th, VC gets the ball, he shoots, HE SCORES!!! Oh wait, actually it was VC gets the ball, dribbles it off his foot, turnover, Nets lose...... But hey at least they won game 5 in cleveland and brought it back home for game 6 which I also went to and had a great win. oh wait, they lost game 6 too. I loved how the one home game they won was the game I missed haha.

Kidd played like a mad man in that series on both ends of the floor like it was the last game he was ever going to play.I remember after the game he said,"I thought someone else would step up".
Something like that anyway reffering to VC.Kidd brought us back form a 20 point deficit on his own and could barely breathe when he hit the bench in the 4th for a second.Dam i miss that type of passion. That was game 6 i was there to Rev.I'll miss the old days @ Continental Arena a little bit.But i can't wait to go to a regular season game @ THE ROCK!!!!!

Thorn GM & President

If you have the right person, why pay two people when one can do the job...
in addition, you'll find a Russian female presence in NYC handling the Brooklyn situation: Irina Pavlova --->All those wondering, no photos of this future Nets executive

CSKA Moscow president Andrei Vatutin to take a senior-level, front-office job...

Dave D comes off as a very bitter man in that article. I read this a few days ago when I was on the other site.

Phil Jackson says he would like to have a vodka with

Post#355 » by hunnicam » Wed May 26, 2010 12:44 am

...the new Nets owner.

A cagy Phil Jackson says he has "no desire at all" to return to Chicago to coach the Bulls, though would "like to have a vodka" with the new owner of the New Jersey Nets.

Pretty crazy if we can get PJ here, that would make us that much stronger in this year's FA hunt.

Proky doesn't touch the stuff I heard. What I did find interesting is that yesterday Phil said he is absoultely not going back to coach the Bulls, but didn't say anything about the Nets. (I don't know why) maybe there is a small bit of interest from Jackson but I seriously doubt it.

Yep. I heard that too. Epic Fail by PJ
Actually "to have vodka with..." often means "would like to discuss, to have a business conversation".
As far as I know PJ has shown some knowledge of some russian stuff, literature, history(Napoleons invasion has been mentioned a lot in his interviews).
I doubt he comes to NJ though.

Yeah Phil is a well read and knoledgeable person.

I'm holding my breath on it until I actually find out Phil has a face to face with someone in the organization.

Oh, can we stop referring to him as PJ? At first I thought everyone was referring to PJ Carlesimo.

Chris Brussard had a great comment today on Mike & Mike too. He was saying that nobody should count out the Nets on any free agents. He even said he thinks Bosh and Wade and Lebron ALL will make a trip to Jersey to hear our pitch. Even if they never intend on signing with us, Chris said that everyone knows between Jay-Z and Proky, the recruitment trip will be the most badass recruitment trip they go on. Yeah that bothers me a little, but it's also totally true lol.
