No more Joe, Corbin as head coach......... can Marvin and Al turn into 20ppg scorers?

Marvin and Beasely were over hyped in college, but i do think that Wade and Joe's game don't really help young players develop.

Salmons numbers didn't change at all after getting traded from Sacramento to Chicago in 2009.

I see what you're saying: you're talking about the half-season before he was traded to CHI. But Salmon's scoring averages were 2.1, 5.8, 4.1, 7.5, 8.5 and then 12.5 the years before.

But think about that: SAC pumped his #s up (for the 1st time in his career) and then he gets traded to be Deng's backup.

I think he may be the poster child for journeymen who score on bad teams.

The real question is not can someone score 20 for us but, rather, can we get our team scoring up while also improving our team efficiency. I'm convinced we could if we could get a PG who is as good at what he does as Joe is at being a SG. Even a PG who is a cut below Joe would benefit us.

But to answer the original question, it appears to me that we need only to replace Joe's 21.3 pts/game. If we find a backup SG who can score 6 pts/gm, then our frontcourt needs to average 5 more pts/gm apiece to equal Joe's output (and greatly improve team balance). They'd have 18.2 shots/gm to share.

Again, with a true PG...

Crawford can get 4-6 more ppg. That shouldn't hurt us on the offensive end.

Our philosphy needs to be about a balanced attack, inside and out.

Somehow, we need to find a guy that can lead us as much as show us how to get to the next level.
Tough to find, yes, but not impossible.

Gilbert Arenas comes to mind, but man that contract is tough to swallow long-term.

Arenas is a volume shooter. He'd kill our ball movement even more than we're already seeing.
