I wanted to hear some of the reasoning from the Knicks fan on why Lebron would sign with you guys. Knicks games haven't been nationally televised for several years now so I doubt you've watched one of our games recently, and I don't blame you. Since we get no buzz, nobody hears about our players, and because it's not being talked about everyone assumes we have no talent. Nobody was talking about the Thunder in the 08-09 season even though they had Durant... Now I'm not saying we're the Thunder, but we have a couple of good young pieces, along with other assets. Danilo Gallinari compares to a future Rashard Lewis, Wilson Chandler is on a similar level to Jeff Green in OKC, and Bill Walker has emerged as a potential component; all are 22 years old. Toney Douglas also proved he has the ability to potentially become a nice starting point guard in the league. We have $37 million dollars to spend whether it's on 2 max free agents, LeBron and Bosh, or 1 max and several other pieces. Our cap room doesn't end there, in 2011 we will have another $12 to spend with Eddy Curry's contract expiring, and if we save a bit of our cap from this year, we'd have a shot at free agents like Carmelo Anthony or Chris Paul in '11. If we land LeBron and Bosh, we could also go another route and trade Eddy Curry's expiring deal to a team looking to shed salary (just throwing out names, doesnt necessarily mean I want these guys): Gilbert Arenas, Monta Ellis, Emeka Okafor, etc. The Knicks also boast the distinction of being the ONLY TEAM in the nba with shares traded on the stock market. This poses as a plus for a guy like LeBron, because it takes advantage of a loophole in the CBA that allows him to be a player and a part owner of the Knicks at the same time...

Don't make it sound like new york has nothing, or that chicago is all that. The bulls team is ok, but some people in my opinion overrate them. If you put bosh on the knicks, they are around the same to me. Cleveland is getting old, and I would argue the knicks would have a better roster than them with that second max guy. Whether you like it or not, the glitz of new york is a huge selling point. That is why most athletes in all sports go to the big market. The lifestyle and the opportunites are endless in NY, and most sport stars love the opportunity to play there. You can't just say "well the team sucks, they can't sign anyone" when referring to NY. You may not agree with it, but athletes are attracted to new york city and winning here can make you a mega star and make you more money than anywhere else. You as a fan only think about the best possible place to WIN, however most athletes think about the MONEY, and what place gives them the best opportunity to get as much income.

I think with all other things being equal, NY city itself is the trump card. However, that's far from the case here.

Money follows winning. Not the other way around. You cannot overstate how important it is for Lebron to get a title ASAP -- and get the lions share credit for it.

And you still fall into the same type of entitled thinking on Bosh. Forget Lebron. How do you convince Bosh? He's not signing by himself either. He can make the same money and actually win big in Chicago, Miami and any other team in the league with a good roster and assets to trade Toronto.

I think you guys are looking at a JJ and Boozer type summer which is still good. If you can get more capspace you might actually convince a big star like Melo next time. Get attractive assets for stars to play with first.

What a homer statement. How can you objectively say Bosh and LeBron on anyteam would be best? For example, take say Bosh on the Rockets? Bosh, Yao, Aaron Brooks, Ariza, Scola, Battier - is that absolutely worse than Bosh and LeBron?

Here's a newsflash that should end this thread but won't. You haven't signed either player yet. So every time a knick poster says you'll sign one because you are pairing him with the other - it's pure fiction and shows your lack of critical objectivity.

I've even seen posters list the lineup with Bosh already in it to make the argument why LeBron would come. It's hilarious.

But what's funny is that the big 3 (Bosh/Wade/Lebron) all confirmed that right before July 1st, they're going to be talking with each other about their moves. It's not like they'll be signing blindly with any old team. They'll actually be communicating with each other, and see what options there are out there.

You're losing yourself in not understanding how the NBA works. They can both talk to each other, talk to the Knicks, and commit based on the other one joining him. It's not the logistical issue -- at all -- that you think it is.

Here's a sample so you understand:

LeBron: "I'm in if Chris commits."

Chris: "I'm in."

Walsh: "We have a deal."

They both sign the contracts a few days later.

The least of our problems is "Who is going to commit first, how would LeBron trust Bosh and Bosh trust LeBron." That's not an issue at all.
