2nd Annual RealGM SlowForm Mock Draft (2010)

Post#1 » by dice » Sat May 22, 2010 9:35 pm

i go board to board and get each team's pick. last year the clips board took...blake griffin!

this year's draft thus far:

1. wizards - john wall
2. 76ers - evan turner
3. nets - derrick favors
4. wolves - demarcus cousins
5. kings - wes johnson
6. warriors - greg monroe
7. pistons - al-farouq aminu
8. clippers - ?

i'll hold the voting open as long as necessary

p.s.: the prior picks were not difficult decisions for any of the respective boards

I agree with the Paul George pick. He also gets my vote. He has as much upside as Aminu in my opinion.

I'll go with Paul George as well, even though I would entertain all offers for the #8 first.

I wouldn't be too happy if the lottery plays out like that, but it's certainly a possibility. George may be a reach at 8 (although he is shooting up the boards), but he does fill a need for us. There are some other players that we could consider, but they would only add to a log jam at the 4/5.

I'd probably go with George as well. Also, I'm sure he'd like being able to play close to home.

this has certainly played out interestingly. in your draft thread there were 5 or 6 people who wanted henry with virtually no interest in george. let's see if the X team comes out to play

Paul George. 6'9 with tons of potential.

Kind of a reach to take him at 8th. Could move down 5-8 slots probably and still get him.

Based on what's left I'd also go with Paul George, I would feel more confident to take him after more work outs and scouting can be done on George.

I think Henry is overrated. We need a starter at SF. If W. Johnson and Aminu are gone, I'd rather pick the best player available.

You all can take George a.k.a. Luke Jackson. Sign me up for Udoh.

I like both George and Babbitt. Guess I'll go with George for now.

Udoh is the player that I was initially leaning towards before going with George. My concern with that is that I don't have a clue what is going to happen with this organization this summer. We have 5 guys under contract and 1 player potentially coming over (Sofo). Of those 6 players, 4 of them play 2 positions. The same position that Udoh would play. If we moved a big, then that changes some things, but balance is really attractive right now. If we get our 3 in the offseason (via free agency or trade), then drafting a big isn't much of an issue at all.

I think the comparison was more about player type and style rather than skin color.

I'll go with Paul George. Once his ballhandling improves, I see George as a better Marvin Williams.

If you are stretching why not take the 19 year old who just lead his BUTLER team to the NCAA finals. At 6"9 Hayward can handle the ball, drive, pass or shoot.
Sort of like a Lamar Odom.

Or we just trade the pick & see what we can get.

Hayward, for me at number 8. Many people think 8 is to high for him, that he should be picked in the late teens to early 20's, but he has so many skills that the clippers could use. Shoots, runs the floor well, decent defender, good passer, nice size, and quicker than one would think. And he is a winner, and strong leader and good character. If we trade down to get a second round pick and a lower first round pick I feel we would lose our chance at getting Hayward. If you look at the mock drafts from other sites, he is one of the men who is climbing quickly on the boards. A few weeks ago he was a 20 something pick, now some have him as high as 10. I believe he has the total package that the clipps need.

Plus We need to sign Larry Brown as Coach. That would be an anti-clipper move.
