Seraphin Kevin... starting to like this guy
His name was slotted for use in the first round and a so guy mentioned his name , so I started looking up info. Guy is big and strong and pretty quick for I guy his size. He reminds me of a smoother NENE. They have him at 6.9 without shoe, but 268! and he's cut. the way he moves at 20
he maybe a good pickup. Has anyone seen what his wingspan and standing reach was? can't seem to find that info. EvilDallas?

At Hoop Summit Kevin Seraphin measured 6-9 w/out shoes, 258 lbs w/excellent 7-3 wingspan:
My thoughts is Now with a new coaching staff we should just add big physical bodies ( like boston)
it's hard to find that one big man anymore. STILL NEED A PG OR IT REALLY DON'T MATTER!

I love the guy. Maybe I am a bit biaised because i am from France. Body like Ian Manhimi, but comes much more equipped at the same age.
Not sure where he would fit in the NBA at the 4 most likely but could also add some muscle to a well developped frame. He will be a beast inside!

I like the idea of drafting a big from overseas at 24. Guys like Jerome Jordan and Alabi don't really excite me.

^And I am the opposite. Give me center prospects who might turn out to be legitimate 5s or at least become defensive specialists.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

The problem is that most legitimate 5's are off the board before the 24th pick. 7 footers who play college basketball like Alabi and Jerome Jordan are rarely underrated. The value picks in this area tend to be the Lee's,Gibson's,Milsap's,and Landry's of the world.

I just don't think he'll slip past both San Antonio and Portland.

Re: Seraphin Kevin... starting to like this guy
If he's still on the board I think he'd make a great pick, but I'm skeptical he'll still be there. This year I really focused on the how Boston is succeeding against Dwight Howard even if that solution takes years. They got big bodies and coached them up and have an overall a defensive focus of each man being responsible. These bigs aren't the tallest, nor were they top of the draft picks. Kendrick Perkins went in the middle of the 1st round out of high school and took years to turn into a defensive stopper but they stuck with him. Glen Davis was a skilled big who slid to round 2 because of height and weight concerns (6'7.5 298 at the combine). Yet he's able to slow Howard down as well because he can fight for position. Boston has other things going for them like a penetrating PG with long arms (not many in this draft) and veteran wings paid big money to make shots at crunch time. We can't put it all together in one off-season though, so we should focus on what we can find this time. Teague may turn out to be that PG, but we need to find out this season regardless of what it does to our record because the next couple drafts after this may have quite a few of these super quick PGs to invest in if he can't do it.

Alabi(22) and Jordan(23) don't even weigh more than Horford did coming out and he was only 21. I believe that Howard would have his way with both of them.
Tiny Gallon(19) has a nice midrange jumper to go along with a 300 pound frame and 9'1 standing reach. I'd take him in the 2nd round if I was interested in developing a good post defender.

i'm really starting to like Elliot Williams. i saw a few memphis games and was impressed by the kid, now i started watching some video on the guy and like him more, and now i started reading more about the guy and like him even more. he is one of those super athletic tweener guards like Wall and Wade
apparently he is also one of those 4.0gpa, hard working, high character guys. recruited by Coach K and left Duke not because of lack of playing time or system issues, but left because of family reasons. he is definatly a hard worker and not just one of those athletes that curse through the season on their vertical, and not one of those "i come first" guys.

Re: Seraphin Kevin... starting to like this guy
I didn't get to see Eliot Williams play at Memphis but did see him a lot at Duke. Athletic G with a good handle who would have played big minutes if he stayed at Duke considering he started part of his freshmen year. Transferred to Memphis because of his mom's illness (possibly cancer, they kept the details private). I think he could be a defensive stopper at SG, but don't know how his offense has progressed since I didn't see him play this year.

I like his potential as a defensive stopper, too. I feel the same way about Pondexter at the 3.
The Hawks are gonna have to work extra hard this year to mess up their pick.

Forgetting their faces, Seraphin Kevin looks like Marvin Williams' brother: same body, only an inch bigger with more muscle.

Re: Seraphin Kevin... starting to like this guy
True, but Marvin's problem has never been his size or his athleticism, it's been his handles and aggressiveness. Seraphin really does remind me of a less jacked Ibaka.
Plus, looks can be deceiving. Barkley was a fatass but still incredibly strong and explosive.
