Bynum Looks Ahead To Finals Against Celtics
Both the Lakers and Celtics were shaking off questions about a potential rematch of the 2008 NBA Finals, until Andrew Bynum couldn't help himself.
Boston and Los Angeles both hold 2-0 leads in their respective conference finals matchups against Orlando and Phoenix.
The Lakers arrived in Phoenix on Saturday night and planned to get together to watch Game 3 between the Magic and Celtics together.
"Man, it's going to be amazing to play against those guys again, especially having lost," Bynum said.
"We're going to have a lot of fuel, a lot of ammo to go at those guys," he added. "They're definitely a great team, they got great veterans on their squad and we know that. So we're already getting prepared. The first step is closing out Game 3 and after that, we'll be focusing on Boston, looking at them play, watching how they're playing Orlando and just trying to pick up as much as we can."

Yes sir, but what I liked even more was when I was watching the Celtics game today, I said I sure hope the Lakers are watching this & come out with the same intensity & put Phoenix down 0-3. Then to read this & see that the plan was for all of them to get together & watch the game & pick up on any extras they can! Man that got me amped!

People are making a big deal of his thoughts, but when you are the superior team it's only a matter of time before they land the death blow. Lot of series left with the Suns, but this next game will write the beginning of the end for them.
I think we have another gear to jump, I don't think the Celtics do.........this is their peak.
Get ready fellas, I'll lead the way on the trash talk with these fools.....scratch that cowards. Those cats were nowhere to be found during the time the Celtics were struggling, now they bust out the wood works like roaches.
I'll be gunn'in those maggots down one by one.......trust me I'm going to be relentless.

Another gear, deep, exactly. For the last two seasons analysts and fans have complained about the Lakers not playing to their potential.
Well, if there's any team that's going to bring it out of them, if it's any team that they hate and respect, it's the Boston Celtics.
People don't know what we're about to witness.

Denver Fan here.
I had friendly competitive hatred against your team but always respected how great of an organization and team is.
Bynum's health will be a big factor in the final's match up. I think if you guys can keep Rondo /big three as well/ in check, chances will be much bigger to win it all. i expect Phil to put Brown on Rondo most of the time to keep him in control.
Good luck rest of the way. Kobe displays role model like attitude night in night out. he deserve to win it.

Someone needs to talk to this kid. We don't need another Stoudemire talking smack in the middle of an important series with the suns. You don't want to piss off a team playing at home, and fuel the Boston team. What ever happened to being humble and staying focus. I thought the Lakers philosophy was "to focus on one game at a time".
It's so easy to bait this kid into these types of questions. The same guys asked Kobe, Pau, and Fisher the same question and they all shot him down, saying they want to focus on game 3 "that's all"!

Come on dude. You got Pierce saying crap like he can smell the title yet Drew says one thing and he gets crap for it. I think Drew realizes that with his knees he can't be a a huge factor this series because of the running game but I think Drew will hold his own against the Celtics. Hes played big against them when he had to and I expect him to come up big against them if we do play them.

As a Cs fan I'm picking the Celtics in 5 for the finals if the Lakers can't sweep. If Bryant can't finish practices because of a sore knee it will only get worse the longer this series goes on. I felt like Kobe shut down Westbrook because he was scared to stick it to Kobe and this was when Kobe was really injured shooting like 35%. Rondo will be able to get wherever he wants for the 1st 44 minutes of the game. Except for Odom playing at the 3 the Lakers don't have much of a length advantage but Artest is a huge upgrade over Vlad at the 3. However, Artest can't shoot from the corner like Vlad could either.

This is expected coming from a C's fan. Kobe may not be finishing practices but he is definitely finishing games. We have the edge this time. If Bynum is anywhere near himself you guys have no answer for him. Ron Ron will put Pierce on the back of a milk carton & all he will be able to do this year is smell the title as the trophy is handed over to the Lakers. Rondo is your only hope. Pau will not be punked out this time!

That's funny... we have an answer for Superman; clearly the best center in the league. Are you implying that Andrew Bynum, when close to healthy, is better than Dwight Howard? It's ok if you do, I wont bash you. I'm just saying...

Dwight is better than Drew but Dwight is also very one dimensional. His offensive game isn't hard to figure out. Boston did a good job against Dwight there is no denying that. Any points he scored seemed pretty non impact type of points.

Dwight Howard is a good defensive player. But he is very easy to defend against. Orlando is nothing more than Dwight Howard surrounded by a bunch of jump shooting softies. They attempted 30 3 pointers last night.
Ankle is right in that if Bynum plays close to his potential, the Lakers will have the upper hand because the C's cannot play the type of D they typically like to play. Garnet likes to roam around and give defensive help. It is harder to do that with 2 seven footers around the basket.

The best defensive Center in the league. He has no offense whatsoever unless he's left open for dunks. I'm sure you erased the game from earlier this year when we beat you in the garden. Drew absolutely destroyed your front line.

Lakers wont have to double team Garnett or Pierce as they did 2 yrs ago. Garnett is nothing more than an outside shooter and Gasol has come along way since that series. With the Celtics unable to put Pierce on Kobe they have no one to guard him. If they did put Pierce on Kobe, Artest will post up Allen at will. Fisher can guard Allen which will allow Kobe to guard Rondo at times but not the whole game. This will be a good matchup but Lakers in 6.

Is Bynum (Please Use More Appropriate Word)? We are up 2-0...There is a lot of series to go with the Suns. I don't care if we sweep them...you don't start talking about the next series up 2-0. He still has a lot of growing up to do, you'd never see this out of our veterans.

But thats the thing Bynum knows he won't be 100% and he hasn't played a center like Perkins yet. This is the same guy that kept Dwight to 7 point and 7 rebounds with Baby and Sheed helping. Perkins offense is horrible now but he hasn't had to shoot yet. I don't know if his knee is bothering him but he can't set his feet correctly and fumbles too many passes. If he can neutralize Dwight and Shaq I have no reason to be worried about Bynum. Kobe has proven to play better with more rest so thats why I think the Lakers need to sweep. Rondo got pummeled by Shaq and Lebron a couple times and he didn't back down driving to the hoop. Pierce also wasn't fazed by D Howard. I just want to see the Lakers pull out stronger from hard fouls before I put them at the Celtics level of mental toughness that's all.

I don't think anyone has really shut down Ray b4. Only Ray can stop Ray. His shot goes in or it goes out. I actually think TA can be a better defender than Ray and PP only if he doesn't go for the shot fake which happens often but no so much the last month.

Artest has never been proven to stop PP sorry and Artest isn't as quick as he was in 2004. PP only is stopped when he faces a guy like Lebron who has the speed, quickness, height, and strength advantage. Artest only has the strength advantage over Pierce. The Celtics tore apart the 2 best regular season franchises at full strength. Those teams are gonna completely rebuild now. The Lakers shut down the Jazz but their 2 longest starters weren't around. I just think the Cs have proven more at this point.
