How Phoenix won game 3!!!

Post#1 » by DaDragicShow » Mon May 24, 2010 6:04 am

Well lets see...

- Amare put up 40+ points
- Nash's 15 assists
- Suns went to the line over 30 times
- Lopez scored 20+ points

- Lakers went 9-32 from 3's
- Odom and Bynum foul trouble( Odom fouled out)

I know we won and I should be happy but we really had a lot of stuff go our way in order to beat LA. So what are the chances this happens again in game 4. Lakers are a heck of a good team and many things had to go our way for a victory.

Well maybe just maybe Channing Frye can make a shot or at least quit shooting so much if he isn't making them. That would help a ton.

- Pray the Lakers didnt figure out your Zone D.

- Amare has to stay agressive try to get Lakers bigs in foul trouble.

- Your guy's Bench needs to play better.

Do the things listed and yor Suns have a good chance to beat my Lakers :x .Good luck on tuesday.

Getting their guys in foul trouble, as well as Nash having a good game was key. Nash had a lot of bad turnovers in the first two games, but seems to be taking care of the ball more. I'd like to see us attack Gasol more. Having him out of the game makes the Lakers one dimensional on offense.

Well according to Phil Jackson the Suns won because:
- a non-call on Pau Gasol that was suppose to be a 3 point play
- unforced turnovers by the Lakers

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

We won because Amare got their bigs in foul trouble early and preventing them to play a twin tower lineup.

The thing I'm concerned with is that the zone we went to also played a huge factor in getting stops, but Phil Jackson is a great coach and he'll have figured it out by Gm 4. It seems the zone is the only defense that has worked so far and if Phil takes it away, which I think he will, I dunno where we are going to go to next.

If Bynum doesn't play the next game our depth becomes a much bigger advantage. Frye's been beyond miserable but you can always count on 10-15 good minutes from Lou, and Amare hasn't slowed. Without Bynum, that leaves the very very good Pau and the very inconsistent Odom. Their backups are DJ Mbenga (he's the one who's ears are bigger than Rhode Island) and Powell. Not exactly good.

If Amare can play well for 40 and Lopez for 30, that leaves 26 minutes to fill in with Lou and Frye. As long as they can not suck, we can handle Pau and Odom trying to play 48 minutes a piece... And we had alot that didn't go our way tonight too. Bad 3 point shooting, missed alot of easy layups, and multiple 30 point quarters by LA. And Kobe was clanking shots off the front of the rim at the end after playing the entire 2nd half.

Ok you're not a good troll, no matter what your name says you are. That was honest, not biased, and rather respectful.

I'm assuming we won't zone up much in the next game. Gentry's a smart guy, and he knows Jackson will figure it out.

In the words of Amare... Suns got lucky.

Obviously we won't get to the line as often as we did in Game 3, but I expect us to shoot slightly better, and have more bench production. The Lakers main 5 guys played heavy minutes and our bench really needs to step up for Game 4. Frye needs to completely forget about the last 3 games and just start fresh, make a few buckets, if not, rebound and defend, setup other guys to score. Overall, we rely on our bench a lot and I fully expect them to have a much better performance in Game 4.
Hill didn't score much and I think next game he'll be in the mid-teens in scoring. If we are able to knock off the Lakers for Game 4, then we'll have the momentum and confidence for Game 5 in L.A. So far into the playoffs we've had different guys step up, and I believe for the rest of this series someone is going to bring 300% effort into one game and be the game changer.
I believe Suns should have won Game 2 if only Amare didn't stink it up. Hill was connecting, Dudley was connecting. So we'll need something like that from our guys in later games.

If you think about it Suns have played pretty well against Lakers in 3 games. Yes, Lakers outplayed us in game 1 but game 2 Suns were tied at 90-90 going into 4th quarter and blew the last 9 min of the game. While game 3 it was a 2 point lead for us going into 4th and Suns turned it up a notch in the final 9 min( like La done in game 2) and we won. Take the blowout game away and Suns have played equally to La in games 3 and 4.

I said it before. You can throw in a million different wacky strategies, but it will come down to Amare and Nash stepping up. And the bench should help a little too.

Foul trouble. That is the key. Attack the hoop early and dont settle for jumpers. Draw the fouls. More fouls = less minutes for the Lakers starting 5. The less they play, the more their crappy bench has to. The Zone D helped alot too, keeping the Lakers out of the paint, and forcing them to make jump shots.

Good game Suns, good game! :D

-Keep attacking Bynum. He's mentally weak, and doesn't get the benefit of the calls like Kobe and Gasol.

Once Bynum is out, their depth is hit hard, and naturally Odom or Gasol will pick up fouls and Amare will have his way down-low.

-Keep shooting Frye, he seriously can't shoot any worse than 5% the next 20 shots.....(right?)

-Play Lopez and Amare more. We're throw our own 'twin tower' out there and battle for boards.

BARBOSA WAKE UP OUT THERE.

Amare was active tonight, the suns kept on fighting. The stars actually played like stars. Artest and odom struggling.

- Amare was a beast. We need that every game from him.
- I didn't many, if any, easy layups allowed. It seemed that at least everytime they drove we, had some one come out and help on the ball. Much, much better than what they were doing game 1.
-Kerrsed mentioned it. we took it to the Lakers bigs in the first few minutes of the first quarter, and that set us up beautifully. Once Amare got him self going, they didn't have much to stop him.

I said this earlier in the season, but Frye really needs to learn to attack the rim. His shot isn't falling, so why not head to the basket, make a play, draw contact, something, anything. Another this, I wouldn't mind seeing Lopez catch the ball settled a few more times. It seemed that most of his point, he had to quickly gather the ball and make a decision. Let's see him, dig down, get some position, and post him if its good.

Anyway, sweet victory for the Suns.

I wouldn't bet against Frye not shooting 5% again.

Lopez and Amare together was the bomb. Gives Nash two PnR players who if fouled can convert at the FT line.

Our bench didn't even play that well and we still got a "W". That could be a positive going into next game. We need Frye and Barbs to hit their 3's to help us a bit.

Wouldn't take it as positive. They didn't play very either in the first two games but we still lost. All it means is that they have been a non-factor so far.

How about how we almost lost game 3:

-Kobe had 36 points and 11 assists
-Pau had 23 points and 9 boards
(If i remember correctly, this is the Lakers first loss in the playoffs when Kobe and Pau both score 20+)
-Laker bench outscored the suns bench by 3

-Frye is ice cold from the field taking seven shots with no hits
-The team shot 25% from three
-the bench had a total of 3 field goal makes in 21 attempts

Im saying we also have a lot going against us and we still won.

The Mob can only stay silent for so long.
