The key to our win was paint defense against their bigs cutting to basket for easy layups. The key stats was the drastic reduced assists number for Lakers. At least with zone, we managed that. It's funny, we win games with defense and when shooting % or 3pt % or assists numbers are low for both teams. We out-big them with our twin towers, opposite to what Barkley proposed on TV. :)

-Kobe had 36 points and 11 assists
-Pau had 23 points and 9 boards
(If i remember correctly, this is the Lakers first loss in the playoffs when Kobe and Pau both score 20+)
-Laker bench outscored the suns bench by 3

-Frye is ice cold from the field taking seven shots with no hits
-The team shot 25% from three
-the bench had a total of 3 field goal makes in 21 attempts

Im saying we also have a lot going against us and we still won.

Most insightful post on here! You guys act like we played a perfect game and the Lakers played horrible.....No we didn't. Amare played well. nash had less turnovers. I don't you if you guys forgoet, but Lopez had 14 points in 25min, in gm 1!!

Fish had a big game too. We need to stop Odom and Artest.

Another good post. We won't hear about that in the media!!! Remember when Gasol and Bynum had a good gm against Utah's 6'7, 6'8 frontline? The media had a frenzy talking about it...

Well, we dominated the LAKERS' bigs, but I bet we don't get any encouragement from the media, just like when we swept the Spurs and they swept Utah, they got more credit for their sweep.

How did they media blow up Amare's lucky comments? Then Bynum comes out and say they are prepapring for Boston after game 3....Nothing!!!

We need to keep spanking that azz. Run the zone until they BEAT it. Don't anticipate them beating it, so you change it before, make them beat it.

- Odom and Bynum foul trouble( Odom fouled out)

I know we won and I should be happy but we really had a lot of stuff go our way in order to beat LA. So what are the chances this happens again in game 4. Lakers are a heck of a good team and many things had to go our way for a victory.

don't forget that our bench sucked yesterday so they're for sure gonna be much better game 4 and frye cannot get any worse than he already was

Frye is DUE for a good game. I'm hoping we take care of business in Gm 4 and Frye explodes in Gm 5 to steal one on the road.

I'm afraid if he doesn't do well in Game 4 then Game 5 on the road will not be his place to start. He needs to feel the home crowd and get his confidence up. If he doesn't start hitting shots in Game 4 I don't think it's worth relying on him for anything come Game 5.

I said this earlier in the season, but Frye really needs to learn to attack the rim. His shot isn't falling, so why not head to the basket, make a play, draw contact, something, anything. Another this, I wouldn't mind seeing Lopez catch the ball settled a few more times. It seemed that most of his point, he had to quickly gather the ball and make a decision. Let's see him, dig down, get some position, and post him if its good.

Anyway, sweet victory for the Suns.

Haha did anyone else think the saddest part of the game was when he posted up Fisher and couldn't score on him? Absolutely pathetic.

Frye your disappearing act is not cool. 1-20? Half the people on this forum could probably contribute more than you have this series. I'd say give him one chance, if he sucks it up pull his ass immediately and put in someone that wants to win for the rest of the game.

I feel for Frye - he's in the middle of horrible slump at the worst possible time - but as I've said before, although it's not his game, he does work hard onD and does a to fo little things, boxes out, gets boards. But I think he's so rattled and messed up by the slump that he's not going to come out of it.

I agree that Amar'e and others going to the trim is crucial - lakers have no depth on the front line, we need to draw fouls. Running helps with that, too. I wonder if DJones could help us?

Good point that while we had some things go our way, we didn't play a great game in3. But we really need to win one on LA to stay in this series ... now would be a good time, and it might contribute to messing the lakers heads up. I get the feeling things are not super-cosy in the LA locker room and that these guys could easily turn on each other.

Finally, I publicly admit I was wrong about Gasol. I thought he was just a good but somewhat soft big - he's a lot better than that, great hands, great balance and touch, smart. We need to put a body on him
