Nets First Annual Mock GM Game


Hey guys, I thought it would be cool if we had a game leading up to the draft. Here’s the deal: we all pick a team (or two teams since there are so few of us) and be the gm of that team, making the picks/trades/whatever in order to build the best team. We’ll vote at the end of the draft on who created the best team, with the winner getting a nice, hearty thumbs up from all of us. Remember, you are the gm of the team, so select who you want to select to make the best team, DO NOT select who you think the team will select in real life.


The ground rules:

1) This is thread is solely for the game, do not discuss anything in here. Each post should be either from the team that is on the clock or for a team gm inquiring about a trade with the team that is on the clock. Keep the chatter at a minimum so we have a nice, clean game, and no one has to go back a couple pages to see who the last team selected. We can create another thread for discussion if it’s necessary.

2) The team owner on the clock has as much time as he needs, though try to get in your picks as soon as possible. We’re only doing the first round for now so time shouldn’t be a factor.

3) After you make your selection, always end your post with a reposting of the entire draft, with the all the players drafted up until that point. So, if you’re picking at 12, you would post the entire draft, with your new selection penciled into the number 12 slot, with the team name next to it. You’ll see how it works as we go.

4) You can make any trade you want, but remember, if you have two teams, your trades still have to be reasonable. Let’s say you own the Clippers and the Thunder, you can’t trade Blake Griffin to the Thunder for a conditional first rounder. They have to be fair, this isn’t NBA 2k10.

Now, onto the owner: Everyone who is interested in playing, just respond with a team you want to GM. It’s first come, first serve. Pick one team at first, and if we see we need more, which we probably will, you can pick another team.

I picked the Bulls, since I’m first and I didn’t want to take the easy way out and take the Nets.

Remember, this is all for fun. If you have any questions let me know. The reason that this is here, JJ and Rich, is because I wanted this to be all Nets fans, rather than all of Realgm. If you need to move it or merge it, its okay.
