I really don't get why people don't associate the "cleaning up of the image" with the losing. You want nice guys and good character guys, I understand that completely. But, you have to have a "bad guy" on every team. Not everyone can be nice or you get rolled up on a nightly basis.

It happens on every level of basketball. You can't have 15 guys on an NBA roster that are all church going, family oriented, in bed by 10pm guys.

Foster is our closest thing to a bad guy when he is on the court. I wouldn't mind if Hansbrough actually brought back the Psycho-T stuff and Hibbert starts playing with some of the passion and grit that other Georgetown bigs did.

Maybe it is just the way basketball is these days. I need the old NBA back!

It's one thing to have a "bad guy" ON the court. But our problem has been having "bad guy's" OFF the court. This is where we can't afford to have Arenas.

This.

You want your bad guy to simply be a tough guy. Dale Davis. Charles Oakley. Etc. You don't want a guy who damn near shot his teammate in an NBA locker room over a gambling debt. That's a huge red flag.

Besides his gun collection and his poker incident, has Gilbert Arenas got in much trouble outside of basketball? Honestly, i would take a chance on Arenas if it came in a cheap way, aka, Wiz buy him out and Pacers sign him for cheap. We have been cleaning our image for years and as a result from it, we've been in the lottery each year and there doesn't really seem to be much light at the end of the tunnel. I hate to bring this up again but i saw a documentary on Portland Trail Blazers GM Prichard, who's job was also clean their image from the "Jail Blazers" and he also put up a winner. He said in the show that he has personally passed up on several players mainly due to questionable off-court incidents. He said it's some of the hardest things he's had to do. But, he said (and this was prior to the Bayless, Rush draft) that a time will have to come where they can afford a bad apple or a "risk" player.

It may be time for Indiana to be able to sneak away with one as well. In this situation, he would come cheap and any strike against him, he'd be out of the league. I recall Larry Bird falling in love with Tyreke Evans last draft. a great talent but does has some shady incident on his record. So maybe, Bird knows, the next step is close.

I don't know if 2010 is the time, or maybe 2011 or maybe even 2012, but sooner then later, the Pacers will get a troubled player in here with loads of talent, it will be a PR mess if he messes up but they won't be going after the clean image forever.

Their image is cleaned. Now they have to win. But, problem is, the guys on this squad right now are not ones who can win.... Arenas would put us closer to winning.

It's not like Arenas has won anything either. The teams he has led have done nothing and mostly underachieved. I don't think he's the type of player that ultimately wins you basketball games. I said two years ago that I'd rather have a James Posey player than an Arenas player, because Arenas players don't win.

Arenas is a bad PG. He's a great scorer, but we need a QB.

First off, he will not be bought out, and even if he was, we would never sign him.

Secondly, what's with your post being written in Haiku?
