Dragic out Nashed Nash

Post#1 » by AZdeuce » Wed May 26, 2010 4:51 am

Kenny smith brought it up and I think he is right.
Dragic is a combination of Nash and Manu Ginobali. You can see he has stolen Nash passing ability and Shoots like Manu.

But Yea Dragic is slowly taking over Nash. Its a combination of Nash getting older and Dragic coming into his own. Nice to know he will be able to take over for Nash.

Suns no longer go as Nash goes. Use to be Nash was 90 percent of the Suns success now I say 40 percent of the suns success alot to do with Dragic. Oh and Lopez
Suns fan since 1988 and always will be

Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this instance by an 'orrible ****... me!

Dragic is definitely coming into his own. But not yet. While he has younger legs, he doesn't have the court vision and awareness that Nash does. Nash is one of the best in the NBA at getting his own shot in desperation. I don't think Dragic can replace him.. yet anyway.

Until Dragis shoots 90/50/40 multiple seasons and avgs. 10+ assists a game for as many seasons as Nash has lets settle down a bit.

But Dragic is playing amazing and I love watching him.

Dragic is 10x the defender Nash is. That's what i like most.

Fisher fouled him on that play too, and dragic didn't get the call either... just like nash!

I was screaming when he did that to Fisher. And, if I had any people with me on my couch, I woulda held them down just like Lopez did to the bench.

Dont you think that you guys are pigeonholding him a bit? I mean Nash is a HOF with dead eye shooting and unbelievable passing ability. Dragic is a different person, i mean he doesnt have to shoot 90/50/40 and dish 10+ like Nash for us to say that hes ready to replace him. He has other tools and other talents (like his defence and athleticism) to be a great point guard. But hell do it in his own way.

He's more than twice the defender Nash is, but he's not as good as offense. When he's playing passable offense, it almost evens out. Tonight, he was on freaking fire. The only play that aroused me as much as that drive was when he manned a rebound out of Kobe's hands, after Kobe thought he had it. The look on his face was priceless... So was the look on Kobe's face after Dudley drilled the 3rd 3 in a row (off a pass from Dragic on a drive) in the 4th and taunted Kobe to his face. I thought that'd get him going, but he just hung his head and walked back.

The combo of Manu and Nash sounds totally right though. You can almost tell he loves playing in close games and making it so Nash doesn't have to come out. He's a streaky shooter (like Manu) and incredible on the drive (like Manu) but he's so good at coming off screens and finding open shooters (like Nash). Finding the rolling big will come, which he's pretty good at, but it could still use some work. But really, most role players have 1, maybe 2 ways to score. All stars have like 5 or 6.

Kobe posts up, stops on a dime and elevates, drives, shoots three's, and has a pretty good cross-over (which now results in a shot rather than a drive)

Nash has his sideways off balance shot on either side of the court, layups with both hands, and his 3's (the first two almost count as 2 a piece because of the fact that he goes both ways, so there's no taking a weak side).

Goran has the Dragon shake, his Manu-drive, pull up jumper at the free throw line, and 3's. The last 2 are just streaky, and he needs to keep making right handed shots. If he gets some consistency to his shot (needs to elevate more, he gets blocked too often because of it) and his right hand, he'll be scary. His court vision has improved by leaps and bounds this year and I don't see why that should stop. Next year, I expect him to play 20-25 good minutes a night and average something like 10-5-4. Just needs the experience and extra time to get consistent. Most people who score 20 a game don't score 5 a quarter. If he had more time, he'd be bound to score in bunches at some point.

Good analysis Dbrim I like Dragic. The Suns have a good young nucleus. Dragic, Lopez, Clark. And even though Clark hasn't had much PT. Look who he had to fight for the job. LOU, <-- Crowd loves him. Dudley has played some mad D. Hill who kept us going in this game. And Frye and the Frye Guy was on fire tonight.

We could be awesomer than we are now. And I know that awesomer isn't in our vocabulary but I like the word.

Lopez is even more impressive than Dragic. His potential is through the roof.

It will be once our young nucleus gets even better next season. 8-)

Seriously, if everyone comes back next season we can go 11 deep. That's not even counting our 2nd round pick (and the FO does a great job finding gems in the 2nd round)

Dragic is playing some damn good ball right now. He is definitely one of our strongest defenders on the ball. He can cover a lot of court, and has surprisingly good lateral speed to stay in front of his man. Very impressed with some of the moves he's showing. Especially the way he catches a defender cheating, and draws contact and gets a legitimate jumpshot attempt off. Plays very well off the ball too. Very mature and makes good use of the lefty advantage.

And we have a good insurance policy in Jones as a backup big. Seriously, our team is deep.
