SERIES ANALYSIS
So the series is now tied at 2. The Suns have countered the Lakers size by not guarding them man to man, they've resulted to playing zone. The media and stupid unintelligent fans here on RGM really think a zone is givng the Lakers problem.

The Lakers have shot a good percentage to still win the games. They've lost them due to mental mistakes.....dumb fouls, not boxing out, poor defensive rebounding, bad shot selection, Jordan Farmar, ineffective play from the bigs........yes all of them.

Back to this zone crap, the Lakers are still getting great looks. Problem is when the Lakers struggle it's because the don't run all the counters in the Triangle. Truth be told the Lakers can soften this so called vaunted Suns zone by running cutters in the Triangle like they're suppose to. Pau and Drew have to gain stronger and deeper interior position and finish strong with the ball.

KEYS TO WINNING GAME 5

Rebounding - The Lakers got punished on the boards in Game 4, no excuse for that. Our bigs didn't even try to fight for position or box out effectively. Winning the boards is always to key to neutralizing the Suns.

Defense - The Lakers failed to close out on the Suns, 3 straight 3's in the 4th quarter turned the game in a quick instant. The Laker system is to deny penetration and to a degree they've denied Steve Nash room to roam. Closing out is simple, but it's got to be done off crisp rotations and no missed assignments. And they must stop fouling, this is the reason the Suns have shot more free throws at home.

Tempo - Too many times in this series that the Lakers are jump starting the Suns pace. Game 4 started out with the Lakers keeping the game in the high 80's to low 90's, this is where the Jordan factor comes to play. He has to do a better job of realizing what was established and keep in flow. Him and Shannon have to resist taking bad shots, and we can't get deep in the shot clock.

This game will come down to our level of effort. We can't get out-rebounded again and expect to win, and we've got to play better defense. The Suns have 14 total turnovers in the past two games, so we're not doing enough to pressure their ball-handlers and forcing them to make rushed/bad passes.

At the same time, I fully expect for us to get some love from the refs on our floor, especially since we play with more heart and energy at Staples. We'll be allowed to play a little more physical in the middle and some of those ticky-tack calls that the Suns were getting will turn into calls that we get. Bet on that.

Unless the Suns shoot an incredible percentage from deep, this should be another laugher.

Bynum, put your money where your mouth is. F'ing limp dick lamer.

why does this team like to torture us like this? both games we had a chance to win it but uninspired/lazy ball in the 4th has killed our chances in both games, last nite was so even more winnable then gm 3. But Odom falling alseep on Frye buzzer beater 3, our bench chucking 3's and not attacking or getting the ball to kobe, getting lost on cross matchups, etc. Freaking BS, this is worse then OKC lost because in those games at least the starters were the one who got the win, this team is losing to Pho. 2nd unit.

I'm sure Pau will get the memo, he was going to be a doctor after all. His head will be in the game. Hoping for an LO sighting as well. Kobe will give us multiple underbight sightings :D lets put this team away. Let's get it.

attacking the basket rather than shooting 28 and 32 3pointers respectively should get you more FTs. Now that shoud be even.

Pho shot more 3's then LA in gm 4 and still even before the late fouling in the 4th Pho had an almost 10fta advantage

Yep, and you can count on that happening since our bigs play far more aggressively at home.

The bottom line is that the Suns have almost no chance unless they shoot lights out from downtown and/or have a huge FT advantage (which they won't).

PHX wants to shoot more 3s than you, that's our game. We push the ball and take what the defense gives us, alot of the time resulting in 3s. as for LA, they only averaged 18 3pt attempts during the season. LA's game is inside more than outside. you will not win by shooting 28+ 3pt attempts.

BTW, here's our bench production for the series:

Game 1: 44 PTS (19/31 FG, 4/6 3P), 22 REB, 10 AST
Game 2: 35 PTS (13/18 FG, 4/4 3P), 13 REB, 6 AST
Game 3: 18 PTS (7/24 FG, 2/11 3P), 12 REB, 1 AST
Game 4: 20 PTS (8/26 FG, 2/12 3P), 11 REB, 8 AST

They call it home court advantage for a reason, and there's no question in my mind that our bench will play better in Game 5. They certainly can't play any worse.
