Just cause Rose hasn't shown the playmaking ability to be a pure point in his sophomore year doesn't mean he isn't or can't become a superb player.

I just really don't get the amount of Rose hate a lot of Knick fans, including TKF, harbor for this kid. He's a great, young player who's already lead his team to the playoffs twice, made the all-star team, and has shown a humbleness that we only wished Stephon Marbury had (although from most accounts, his IQ probably isn't much higher than Steph's). He doesn't have a 3pt shot, but already has a deadly midrange game. And look how far Dwayne Wade has gotten without ever acquiring a 3-pt shot.

He's a better asset than anything we have on the Knicks roster and we all know Rose is going to be Chicago's main selling point this summer (I think Noah gets way overrated by Bulls fans, much like Knicks fans do for Gallo). Whether he'll fit with LeBron is another argument, and that's already been beaten to death.

He's a better individual asset than any Knick. But whether he's a good main selling point this summer is directly related to whether he fits with LeBron.

If you don't think Bron wants to play with Rose you are crazy. Knicksgod, every player has holes in his game in his second year MJ, Magic, Bird, and etc etc Rose is a long way from being a complete player but the kid is a gym rat.

I don't know what you mean by wants to play with Rose. I don't think LeBron will think that playing with Rose will a) be a good fit for him personally or b) guarantee or virtually guarantee him a title.

I don't think it's enough to get LeBron to Chicago on the premise that he will have a talented teammate that overlaps his game and does not give him a guy he can surely win multiple titles with. Rose is not that guy for LeBron IMHO. And he won't go to Chicago knowing it may not work out.

Maybe this should go here: We need a defensive big at some point, but I'd like to see about using Curry for Ben Gordon. Pistons would have to consider that and Ben can knock down shots and give us some clutch game next to LeBron.

Why I think all these Bulls rumors are bogus...

Post#586 » by jassous » Wed May 26, 2010 4:43 pm

First of all, wasn't Kobe suppose to be a Bull aswell a few seasons back? Honestly Kobe.. Lebron..Wade.. they are too good to want to mimic Jordan. I understand the thrill of being BETTER than Jordan, but let's be honest. Who else is going to win the Bulls six NBA championships? Put Lebron on that team, they will NOT win 6 of them. Therefore, no one is going to surpass the success MJ has in Chicago. However, come to NY and win two or three, your making a name for yourself. The team success Michael had with the Bulls will probably never be achieved again. However, individual success is different. Lebron has the tools to be better. I don't think he can win six rings in his NBA career regardless of where he ends up, but if he is going to try, he need to start. Come July 1st Lebron needs to be on a quest to get his first ring. Pairing him up with Bosh here in NY gives him the BEST oppurtunity to do that.

Kobe seems to be doing just fine living in the shadow of Kareem, Wilt, Magic and West.

Don't kid yourself, Lebron is just as godlike to Bulls fans as he is to Knicks fans. Just read around, the only ones who bring up Jordan constantly are Knicks fans.

Difference between LeBron's situation and Kobe's current situation, is that LeBron has been compared to Jordan since he was in high school. Kobe was never compared to Kareem, Wilt, Magic, or West...

And this may sound trivial but it's not: Kobe did not sign with the Lakers after establishing himself as a great player but falling short of the title. He started with them on a draft day trade. It's different.

LeBron would be going to a team that has no tradition of winning OTHER than the one MJ gave them. He is already compared to MJ (even though they're very different players) as is. As a Bull, he would be compared win for win and title for title with MJ. In NYC, LeBron writes his own story on a blank sheet of paper.

Footnote is that Shaq did go there after establishing himself and falling short of the title, but Shaq is a different case too. He would never be compared to Kareem (different player altogether) or Wilt (too long ago). And Chicago is not LA, not in stature or winning tradition.

The MJ-LeBron thing is a more direct and immediate comparison.

For LeBron to go to Chicago and overcome the MJ thing, he'd have to see them as a lock to win at least two or three titles with their current roster and him on board. I don't see it. In fact, pretty much nobody does except ESPN Chicago (a/k/a ESPN) and Bulls fans.

Now, if the Bulls can get Bosh, then I think their roster is good enough to overcome the MJ factor.

IMO, Lebron's camp started the Chicago stuff. Its better to have another team in the mix. It generates more attention for Lebron.

All Bron needs to do is win 1 in NY and there will be a statue of him in front of MSG.He will need to win 7 in Chi for that to be a reality. And that statue will make him immortal.;)

Personally, for LeBron, even if he wins 6 hell be compared to Jordan and theyll say "well Jordan took 2 years off, so he would have won 8" ... if he wins 8, theyll still say Jordan would have done the same...

Honestly, going to the Bulls, I think LeBron needs 10 titles to definitively say hes #1 in their history... thats a tall task....
