Looking at the Jays' plate discipline stats (http://www.fangraphs.com/winss.aspx?tea ... 10&month=0), it's pretty cool to see that JoBau isn't just mindlessly hacking away. He's not swinging too much, especially not at pitches outside the strike zone (O-Swing%), and he's making contact at a high rate. His plate coverage has been even better than Vernon this year. And as I said before, the outlier HR/FB from his career norm doesn't necessarily mean he'll regress back down. There are plenty of players who maintain an outlier through an entire season. Basically, I think he's legit and will finish with at least 30 jacks and still have a good OBP to go with it.

I will consider him huge a disappointment with anything short of 60-120.

I think this is just the perfect approach by Cito. Our hitters suck, but our pitching is good. So let the pitchers do their thing, and let the hitters just swing for the fences. All we need is a couple of solid contacts per game to win. Jose BOW-tista just happens to be the best at making contact these days.
