What are your expectations for his 3-point shooting during the future?
He was 7-32, 21.9 his rookie season.
I went to draftexpress.com to look over his predraft measurements and noticed they have his Best Case: Better Shooting Monta Ellis and Worst Case: Louis Williams/Aaron Brooks. Realistically do you expect him to be as productive as Aaron Brooks?

Re: Jeff Teague's 3-point shooting
With proper development and playing time? I think he can be as good as Aaron Brooks, although better shooting Monta Ellis probably won't be achieved.
Teague looks far more comfortable shooting off the dribble than take set shots. I'm hoping that's a confidence issue from getting sporadic playing time.

Re: Jeff Teague's 3-point shooting
I understand their expectations back then because he showed that kind of quickness in college and he had decent shooting numbers back then. He especially shined against Ty Lawson. I didn't notice that same level of quickness in his rookie season. He could penetrate but wasn't getting all the way to the rim. I don't know, maybe his confidence was shaken. Aaron Brooks seems to get to wherever he wants on the floor. As for his shooting that is something that he can develop if he works at it. A lot of PGs have horrible numbers for their rookie season. I don't think the sample was large enough to be too worried about the low 3 pt %.
It's a bit frustrating that he saw so little court time that Jeff Teague is a total question mark at this point.

Re: Jeff Teague's 3-point shooting
It's easy to forget how highly thought of Teague was coming out of Wake. I, for one, am especially guilty of this.
He, without a doubt, has superior quickness. As he showed in limited PT, he has a nice tear-drop but he struggled to finish in the paint. 3ps% can be worked on. The player many of us covet, Devin Harris, has a pretty terrible 3ps% and he has been around for 5 years now.

That guy shoots like a girl......Its difficult for him to get three point shots off the dribble as he is more of a set shooter, I guess he could improve but I think that he would be better suited at getting stronger and mastering the art of the pick and roll. Rondo isn't much a three point shooter either....

Re: Jeff Teague's 3-point shooting
Aaron Brooks only averaged 12 min and 5 pts his rookie season. Give Teague a chance to start and see what happens next year. I have a feeling that he will shine once he gains more confidence from playing time. He is taller, longer, and stronger than Brooks though not as quick. I am expecting him to grow into a Rondo-type player.

Re: Jeff Teague's 3-point shooting
Considering the dude shot 42%, on about 3 attempts/gm, from 3 for his college career, I don't think there's much concern that he won't at least be average. I was very high on him going into the draft and still think he's eventually a plus starting PG in the league. He's just not getting enough reps in ATL.

Re: Jeff Teague's 3-point shooting
3pters are huge for a guy with Teague's speed and quickness. They'd force the defense to cover him on the perimeter and make it easier for him to penetrate.

Re: Jeff Teague's 3-point shooting
Aaron Brooks is as productive as he is because his team sucks and same for Monta, we will never know unless Teague gets more minutes. At the end of the season against Cleveland he looked good
