The Wii sucks..

Sorry, I had to get that out of the way. I'd really like to play this but since I'm one lazy Mother effer, Rich, can you tell me what new features SMG2 one has over the first installment?

Put Super Mario Galaxy 2 into your Wii and it magically fixes itself because it wants you to play the game so badly.

Great games are great games. I could find them on all three current generation consoles (I don't play the 360 though).

I'm just over 30 stars in and the levels seem much harder as I progress. If there's one reason to get the game after the first Galaxy, it's Yoshi. Eats stuff, runs fast, lights up floors, and becomes a hot air balloon. He also comes equipped with a headbutt. Like Super Mario World, the music gets more upbeat when you have him. Oh and yes...I've done this already.

Image

Countless hours of hard work shines through the creativity of every single level, all of which seem much longer than the ones in the first Galaxy. New powerups come into play like the drill Mario, rock Mario, and cloud Mario and all are fun to use. Luigi is unlocked early, but is only available when he decides to appear at the beginning of a level. If you beat a level with Luigi, a staff ghost is unlocked. HUB world is gone. Go from galaxy to galaxy using a starship in the shape of Mario's face on a plain map (Think Super Mario Bros. 3). Checkpoints can only be obtained from Mario touching a Bowser flag. 2D is seen a lot more in this game, sometimes you don't even notice the transitions, but when you do, you sure as hell appreciate it.

Story is the same, but who the hell plays a Mario title for the story? Camera could be better at a few spots, but still nothing to worry about. A second controller now controls a luma that can collect star bits, coins, 1ups, and air bubbles. It's nothing to go crazy over, but me and my friends alternate anyway. Memorable soundtrack, but nothing could beat the epicness of Gusty Garden from the first game.

I've stopped playing every other game I've been playing on and off for this (Monster Hunter Tri, Red Steel 2, Fallout 3, MLB 10: The Show, Battlefield: Bad Company 2)

^I said I'm broke not it's broke!

But yeah, this is a brilliant reason to get a Wii, just seems like pure fun through and through which is typical of Mario.

Oh...well dude, hold a Gamestop at gunpoint. They freaking deserve it anyway.

Mods Note: I am not condoning robbery with a deadly weapon at a Gamestop...even though they do deserve it.

I've been thinking about getting a Wii and this might push me over the edge.

N64 was one of my favorite systems ever and I just happened to inherit one a few weeks ago, although it did not include Mario. :(

I still have my N64 stored. It's out once every few months (along with a bunch of older systems) whenever I have some friends over to play GoldenEye (I will play this over any current FPS), WWF No Mercy, StarFox, and a whole bunch of other games. It also has my favorite controller.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm liking Super Mario Galaxy 2 over Super Mario 64. Super Mario 64 had all the wow factor...the first 3D Mario game, the first time Mario talked...but Super Mario Galaxy 2 is just near perfection.

Ah, good to see you using your imagination. Seriously though, whenever you have a chance at a new game, I highly recommend Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Big fan of Pistols with Licence To Kill in the Stack. Proximities were awesome too.

^I still have to buy a Wii mind you, so might have to rob for 3 maybe 4 purses.

But yeah, I saw you still had WWF No Mercy, to me anyway BEST GAME for the 64.

My favorite game on the N64 is GoldenEye. My friends and I logged countless hour on that game and to this day we still do. No Mercy though has the best wrestling roster and ease of controls in any wrestling game I've ever played. Sure, there's been games with better graphics and customization since then, but nothing beats the gameplay of No Mercy.

Yeah, I think Golden Eye might be my favorite on N64 as well.
Smash Brothers, Mario Kart 64, Mario were all awesome as well.
Pilot Wings needs some love. Wave Race and Star Fox too.

BTW, what's the oldest video game system you guys still own? How about still play?

I wish I still had my Nintendo or Super Nintendo just to break out every once in a blue.

I still have my Dreamcast, I have 2 or 3 old Atari's that were given to me as hand-me-downs, N64, PS2 and drumroll please... a Turbo Grafx 16 and a Turbo Express.

I actually do not own a PS3, a Wii or a 360.

Oldest is the Super Nintendo. But the one that I still play would probably be the PS2 and the Gamecube (Super Smash Bros. Melee is still great fun!), no idea where all my Super Nintendo games went :(

Goldeneye is easily the greatest game ever.
