richardhutnik wrote:No, I am not saying the direction of his hatred is justified, or even correct in the charges. It has gotten stupid. I swear the GOP, in order to mask that it doesn't really want to be conservative, but also pander to extreme wings, has ended up positioning the Democratic side as more and more extreme. So, to be able to do both, they keep pushing the extreme labels of the Democrats out there, and particularly the likes of Barrack Hussein Obama (the use of that feeds into it, except that people probably forgot already who Hussein was). The underground wants to spin him as Marxist, Muslim and also a member of a Liberation Theology Church. They want to think that all three can coexist together, and the likes of Fox News feeds into it. It enables them to want to back Romney, eventhough Romney had set up a health care plan in Mass. that is like what Obama had proposed across the country.

What I am saying is hatred isn't based around race, but everything else. The need for power and to vilify the liberal side, and Democrats is stronger than any hatred of the race of Obama. This is what I was trying to say here. There is a need to hate, and make up any reason to do so. It is because the GOP is at risk of fracturing at this point and time, with Tea Party and moderates at odds with each other. So, if you can get everyone to hate the Democrats, it works to hold them together.

The hate that exists towards President Obama is alot deeper than anything that you mentioned. Obviously, you did not read anything that I wrote concerning the origins of this hate, which is diametrically opposed to what you are saying. For anyone to deny the significance of the history of this country, especially when it comes to the experience of African and Native Americans, is a complete inexpressible atrocity. It shows the utmost disrespect for the plight of both races of people.

The hatred stems about not being in power, as the top element. Because of this, there is a lot of venom involved, and needing to stir things up, in hope it would make a difference. It is in the realm of the Bill Clinton administration, and comes out of Obama being a Democrat. The need for power is more than the hatred of race in this case.

What I am saying is that it isn't racial reasons that are the main basis for the hatred, but a need to make Obama out to be someone destroying America, because the Republicans don't have answers. So, they want to generate fear. The only thing that having Obama does is let there be spins of stupid connections to "terrorists" by somehow linking him to "Muslim". Anything else, like going race, gets you thrown off the air due to the fallouts of protest.

It is important to end up realizing what is really at work here, and it is beyond the plights of the past. There are things here and now that drive hatred. One has to fully see this, before they can jump on it and say that hatred of Obama is all because he is black. Michael Steele doesn't get attacked due his race. He gets attacked because the Democrats are in power, and Rush Limbaugh throws him under the bus because of a Democrat in power more than anything else.

By the way, the designated scapegoat for the problems in society today are Mexicans, or anyone who doesn't speak English. It is considered proper to want to discriminate against them. It is a different form of skin color that is brought into question. I would suggest people seriously see what is going on. I speak to some Jewish people, and they think they are being set up to be persecuted and blamed for everything. And other groups are feeling the same. You are an evangelical Christian? Well, you will feel the New World Order is coming and you are going to take the fall. There have been crimes in the past and evils, but one needs to have to try to move beyond these.

Carville rips Obama, dems turning on dems. :o

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Politics/bp-o ... d=10746519

'Political Stupidity': Democrat James Carville Slams Obama's Response to BP Oil Spill

The White House is seemingly making an increased show of pressuring BP, but President Obama is facing political heat from within his own party for what some say has been a lackluster response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Democratic strategist blasts White House over rig spill reaction.

More Photos
The "political stupidity is unbelievable," Democratic strategist James Carville said on "Good Morning America" today. "The president doesn't get down here in the middle of this. ... I have no idea of why they didn't seize this thing. I have no idea of why their attitude was so hands off here."

On Thursday, Obama will announce new measures the federal government will take to try to prevent any future BP oil spills, administration officials said. And on Friday, the president will visit the Gulf coast, his second trip to the region since the environmental disaster happened last month.

But Carville said the Obama administration's response to the BP oil spill has been "lackadaisical," and that rather than place the blame on the previous administration, it should've done more to deal with BP and "inept bureaucrats," which would've in turn helped boost Obama's approval ratings.

"The president of the United States could've come down here, he could've been involved with the families of these 11 people" who died on the offshore rig, Carville said. "He could've demanded a plan in anticipation of this."
Trust but verify.

The Audacity of Eh.

This is not new. He's been getting ripped by the left along the way. And, in my opinion, rightfully so. Example ... he was on board for off-shore drilling. Just stupid. I also don't like his position on nuclear energy because they still haven't discovered what to do with with nuclear waste.

Another example why big government is bad "Sestak White House Job Claim: Just Politics, Not a Crime." Both parties are sleazy and while this incident was made by the democrats, this stuff happens in Washington all the time. Instead of allowing the PEOPLE to elect a represenative, the government tried to do everything in their power to make sure the person THEY wanted got elected, including bribery. We need some more accountability and should give STATES more rights and take away power from the federal government. If people want to live in a welfare state with a lot of government control, they should have that option. They will have a better safety net but pay more in taxes. If people want small government, and little to no safety nets and want to sink or swim on their own they should have that right.

I believe what has happened historically, as America has grown as a nation in stature, power and economic might, is that it has become more of a single entity than a bunch of independent states that compete against one another. You have areas that specialize in certain things, and become dependent on other parts of the country. The end result is that the rights of states has diminished as they have become less relevant to the lives of ordinary people.

You see this also in individuals rights. People get tied economically to certain areas, because that is how the economy is, and they want certain rights. This then drives cases to go all the way to the Supreme Court than ends up ruling on certain issues that were historically state issues. People don't have the same level of mobility as in the past, where people could be farmers and all they need is land. Specialization forces people to deal with others they normally wouldn't have to deal with, due to economic realities.

Then you factor in how one region's issues become the problem for the entire nation. The levies going out in New Orleans ends up messing up commerce for multiple other states. This becomes a nationwide issue. So, one can't just go, "more states rights", because economic and identifying oneself as an American over a member of a certain region or state, also impacts this.

I think reading the recently released documents about the Gulf of Tonkin are much more disturbing. The American government got the American people into they're worst and dumbest war based on a complete lie.

How recent? It's been declassified for a few years that the Gulf of Tonkin never happened. Our government has been lying to us for decades. No major news outlet covers this kind of stuff because they're all owned by big business who contribute to elected officials' campaigns.

I have some philosophical political questions I am interested in seeing people answer, if you believe less government is the answer to everything:
* If people don't need government, that then means that they are able to overcome everything else in life that would be a hinderance. This means no one gets hurt by the marketplace, except when stupid. If this is so, then what makes the government so evil that people aren't able to work around it, as in any other problem in life?
* If markets are so perfect for supplying goods and services, then why do soup kitchens exist and food is freely handed out? Why haven't for-profit solutions to take care the poor have arisen that would make soup kitchens obsolete?
* If government regulation is not needed of markets, then what prevents companies from getting so big that they threaten the economy if they go under?
* If corporations are that competent at making decisions, then why do companies go under?

And to the other side, that wants more government, I have a few questions:
* Why must the government provide welfare?
* Did the U.S government actually win the war on poverty?
* Is there any indication that government social welfare programs actually do anything to enable people to get better in their lives, or do they merely keep people in a cycle of dependence?

Ok, these have been nagging at me a bit, and I would be interested in seeing what people have to say here.

Changing to the subject for a moment .... anybody else around here think we need to get the F out of Afghanistan? We are all getting immune to the loss of life incurred in this war while we continue to just spin our wheels there. Obama needs to start stepping up to the plate on this ... and a number of other issues. I'm beginning to look at his as "Bush-Lite."

The U.S. doesn’t win wars anymore. We just funnel the stressed and underpaid troops in and out of the combat zones, while all the while showering taxpayer billions on the contractors and giant corporations that view the horrors of war as a heaven-sent bonanza. BP, as we’ve been told repeatedly recently, is one of the largest suppliers of fuel to the wartime U.S. military.

Seven American soldiers were killed in Afghanistan on Monday but hardly anyone noticed. Far more concern is being expressed for the wildlife threatened by the oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico than for the G.I.’s being blown up in the wilds of Afghanistan.

cgf-

ever see the movie "Fog of War"? You would really enjoy it if you haven't. McNamara was secretary of state under Kennedy and Johnson during Vietnam. He discusses the 11 lessons learned from Vietnam. The Gulf of Tonkin is obviously a big part of it. It's very interesting to hear McNamara discuss that.

It is hard for me to care about what is going on as far as wars, when I am trying to find a job to pay the bills (that and also getting a social network site up that maybe SOME DAY becomes a job or brings in revenue). I have more pressing matters at home, than to worry about this. As of now, I have no intentions of even voting this election. Apparently whomever gets in doesn't make a difference. I need someone to serious pander to myself before I would consider voting for anyone. I am going on over 3 years without anything regular employment, even part time. You tell me what my mind is on. I am sorry, I can't care now that troops are dying overseas. I can shed a tear a bit, then get back to my own stuff, if you like.

In regards to Obama, he said he would beef up Afghanistan, and that is what it looks like he is doing. If America pulls out of Afghanistan, and the Taliban remains and gets back in power, and al Qaeda sets up shop again, then tell me what American foreign policy should be.

Well, then you're probably right to not care and not vote because none of these cats cares about you ... or me ... or mugzi .... or cgf. Why should they when corporations have taken over as government's main concern (thank you very much Suuuuupreme Court!). I understand your situation and, yes, you got to get yourself job situation straightened out. Having said that, Rich, if you really don't care anymore, then why do you come onto the thread and post your thoughts? Maybe you care more than you'd like to admit, which is not such a bad thing.

In passing, there is a desire to want to care, but don't see anything happening that would warrant me caring at all and getting involved. I do run across things from time to time, so I post them.

Again, I said my lack of concern was over the war stuff. I do still have concerns over economics and am looking for answers actually still.
