Salary cap implications are completely different in the NBA as opposed to MLB. In the NBA, you pay dollar-for-dollar over a HARD cap which changes every year. This does not happen in baseball.

Maybe you can explain it better???

NFL=HARD cap that teams cannot go over at all.

NBA=SOFT cap that teams can go over.

Hopefully there will be a hard cap in the next CBA.

Ok. Got it. Thanks. I'm assuming MLB is soft as well.

NOW thats a hard cap... and a harsh penalty for breaching it... in the NBA, the rich is allowed to breach it because they can afford to.... no other penalties..

I don't follow the NRL but I thought it was pretty harsh. Take away the championship for breaching the cap, fine, but to make every game this season meaningless, is . . . meaningless.

MLB has no cap, but they have some sort of profit sharing.

Maybe they actually value the honor and fairness of the game more than they do money.

Kinda wish there were more things like that in life...

No reason to overblow it and call it good vs evil. Let's discuss basketball not morality.

yeah the whole evil vs good thing is kind of stupid.

Love the rivalry, despise the fans (winning breeds arrogance with sports fans), have liked many of their players, though I can honestly say, I have never wanted them to win a big game. Kind of like the Dal Cowboys and as of late the Pittsburgh Steelers. I kind of like the teams (personnel) but absolutely and almost universally can't stand their fans. I take immense joy in seeing their followings shrink and hide while they pick the crow feathers out their teeth.

The fLakers are the rich kid next door who gets all the cool toys. When you can bring them down a notch, it is all the more satisfying.
