5 Mins of DMC Doing Cool Stuff vs Favors in HS

The title pretty much says it. It's 5 minutes of Cousins doing cool **** against Favors and his South Atlanta team. Cousins is #15, Favors is #54. The stuff he does is ridiculously impressive, especially when you consider just how large a man he is. I don't want to oversell it, everybody should watch this.

That spin move he puts on Favors towards the end is pretty sweet.

I know it is HS, but his vision and passing seems to be an under-discussed skill. Considering our pass-based offense it would be nice.

Just how comfortable he looks handling the ball and make decisions in the open court. If his head's on straight, he might get the GM's that passed on him fired. Unfortunately, if all the concerns are true, his liable to get the GM that does pick him fired.

Yeah, he's seeing, and making, some really nifty plays. His handle is also pretty impressive for a C.

If thats the only clip you've seen of him you'd swear he was going #1. He's got handles (for a guy his size), good passing, court awareness and finishes strong. Whats not to like?

He looks like an NBA player playing against a junior high team. Twice in that vid he just flat out embarrasses Favors.

If he ever gets in shape he's going to be dominant.

I'm impressed. Cuz seems to have such a great feel for the game. Even if he doesn't stay in shape, he's going to be solid for a team. Even Coleman was a decent 6th man, and with Cousins ability - you have to take that risk on greatness, especially when the consolation is still a decent player off the bench.

This is interesting since Chad Ford said at the Chicago combine that Favors absolutely dominated Cousins when they played in high school.

reading the title and all the ball handling comments, i was expecting like 5min of some voyertastic video shot through a peephole of a seedy motel room wall, so naturally i'm a little let down. I am however very impressed by his just overall skill level. I know this isn't really the greatest comparison seeing as these guys are likely to be HoF'ers, but a Duncan/Garnett hybrid, almost what J Oneal should have become.

couldn't this could be said of ½ of the NBA over the last 20 years? Imagine Shaq, Sheed, DC and Oliver Miller with work ethics.

I watched that game. If I remember correctly, Cousins team won but it was pretty clear that Favors won the head to head matchup with Cousins. That doesn't mean Cousins was not impressive though.

Edit: And that spin move is absolutely ridiculous.

Favors finished with 36 points, 14 rebounds, one blocked shot and five turnovers. Cousins didn't produce the gaudy numbers in the scoring column - scoring 21 points - but he showed more of a complete game with 12 rebounds, five assists, five blocked shots and just one turnover.

Jermaine O'Neal seems like a pretty good comparison to me

Me too. I mean, watching all those plays from one game, and looking at Cousins' box score, he had an awesome game; 21-12-5-5 and only 1 turnover? I'd be curious about the shooting percentages for Cousins and Favors for the night, and whether they were guarding each other all game (if they were, neither one did a great job).

Maybe we should ask the vikes if they're glad that they decided to pick Harvin despite perceived character issues. You don't pass up a chance on greatness for Wes Johnson.
