This is like saying that Telfair would have looked as good as Wall had he gone to college. Cousins is 50 pounds heaviver, has a standing reach that's 5 inches taller, and is much more skilled than a 19 year old Kwame.

I don't really see how Cousins being ranked lower than Turner is crazy. Turner actually has intangibles and defense to go along with offense.

He probably meant wes johnson. What baffles me is why Mr Sexual favours is going so high. At the same time I understand from philadelphia fans that they feel he is kinda like iggy to them. I feel they can play together. Some philly fans don't. Perhaps chad ford feels the same thing or perhaps Favours is better than I thought or his numbers (height, wingspan etc) got him bumped up in the rankings

The ironic thing about Kwame is that 19 year old Kwame is more skilled than 28 year old Kwame.

It's kind of shocking to see that Kwame was a 70% FT shooter entering the league, and now shoots 30% from the line.

You must not have watched much of any player. Cousins is not like Derrick Favors a guy who's biggest strength right now is his length and ATHLETICISM. Cousins is not that kind of athlete. Heck if he was, with the skill he has and production he'd be the #1 pick even with the Wall Hype

Cousins is a SKILLED big man. His favorite player is Pau Gasol. Don't know if he's exactly as skilled as Pau, but just a sense for the total difference in game. Kwame was a raw as a spring chickencompletely unskilled, athletic 7 footer. Cousins is a 6'11 highly skilled and highly productive (1st team all american) yet underwhelming athletically player.

Comparing the two is a joke.

Cousins compares better to Derrick Coleman than Kwame if you want to call bust. Average athlete, lots of natural offensive talent, and very little between the ears.

Indeed, typo, meant Wes Johnson. Turner IMO should be the 2nd overall pick, I'm very high on him, could definitely see him becoming a Brandon Roy type of player. I'd personally have Wes Johnson and especially Aminu (who I don't really like) behind all of Turner, Favors and Cousins.

I'm probably in the minority in that I'd take Johnson and Aminu over Cousins. I see Cousins upside as a Zach Randolph/Al Jefferson type, to me that's not enough to justify the baggage that pick brings, considering I value high character and "winning" type players a lot. OTOH I could see Johnson as a Nic Batum/Tayshaun Prince for somebody. Not an all-star, but the an ideal role player on a great team, as a super long defender who hits 3s. I'd be fine with Johnson.

As for Aminu... I actually think he has one of the highest upsides in the draft. Athletic beast, HUGE wingspan, nice skill level. I think he's been a little underrated.

I go back and forth, but I do not see it as crazy that a team would take one of the SF's over Cousins. IMO they are similar level prospects.

It's kind of strange to see someone who criticizes Cousins' intangibles so much also have Whiteside at #9 on their big board

Whiteside has what Cousins does not, a ton of upside. I have Cousins ahead of Whiteside, I just don't wet myself over him.

WTF do you mean Whiteside has more potential then Cousins does??????? Cousins has the potenital to be a 25 and 12 guy while Whiteside might be Marcus Camby AT BEST. Cousins is younger and more polished and has showed that to stop him on Offense you HAVE to double team him. There is a huge distance between these two prospects im talkingParis Hiltons gaping vag big.

Good point, I don't know agree in a sense, he's more Josh Smith than Coleman but we will see when he is in the NBA.

I think (and I'm hoping) he meant Cousins and Smith are alike mentally.

he meant as far as talent and attitude, not as far as athleticism. josh smith fell for the same reasons.

I keep seeing Benoit Benjamin, a guy who had monster stats at times, but whose effort was always questioned.

I don't think Cousin's PASSION can be questioned... in fact, often times it was that passion (what, you mean I fouled him?) that was the sourse of the concern. Got dejected whenever he made a mistake. It's his boneheadedness that is the problem.

But, then again, I'd like to find a 19 year old who isn't boneheaded. If a 19 year olds biggest problem isn't in his game, but in his maturity, I'd take him any damn day.
