One Player

What one single player, that the Kings have a realistic chance at actually getting, would do the most to help the Kings make the biggest stride in their improvement.

I'm not only talking draft, but free agency or trades as well, but one player.

Cousins.

If not him, I'd really believe that Aldrich would do more for this teams development as a team with no huge flaws (not necessarily a better player, but more to HELP US) than anyone else we can get.

Well I'm going to agree with the others cousins is that guy. He's a bigtime impact player that makes a
huge difference. If not him then aldrich who single handedly can change a teams defense.

As far as realistic signings go I think that finding a high percentage 3pt shooter to come off the bench will do wonders for our teams offense.

Realistic trade option i would think we could go out and get thabeet. I know a lot of guys are down on him and see him as a bust but what i see is a 20-25 minute guy with insane defense and I think he'll be cheap. Also another option that makes a huge impact fornus would be al Jefferson.

Biggest immediate impact guy though is cousins. With him our big man rotation all of a sudden has to be respected simply based on sheer size and depth.

I sincerely hate the Thabeet idea, I think it would be a fundamental failure of a deal to make.

^^ I like thabeet still he produces a lot in a short amount of play time. I feel with some legit development he could be very good. But as far as immediate impact he's a huge guy with good shot blocking.

I'd take him off the Griz hands for free, if that works.

Initial, or long term? The biggest initial stride would obviously come from anyone that can help hold the paint down defensively so draft wise it's Aldrich, trade wise it's whoever can block a damn shot, and free agency wise it's probably Haywood.

Probably guys like Cousins, Johnson, or Favors would have the longer term potential to improve this team.

Overall I'd say the one guy is Cole Aldrich.

In similar minutes David Lee at 23 put up a 11/10/.4blks. Thompson at 23 put up 13/9/1blk. If we didn't have Thompson already I would definitely want Lee.

I'm not a fan of Cousins, I think his red flags are just too large

He has issues, but his talent and skill are unquestionably there. You just don't pass that up.

Well, I think in order to judge between say a player like Cousins or Wes Johnson, you have to determine: if everything goes perfectly how good they could be, the likelihood of that happening, if everything doesn't go to plan how good they would be, and the likelihood of that happening.

Then compare the overall value of each player. If Petrie really sees massive red flags with Cousins, it might not be worth the 10% chance he comes a top 5 big. Maybe Johnson' ceiling is top 15 SG or top 15 SF, but the odds of that happening are incredibly good...then maybe Johnson is the right player.

Cousin's being a good pick or not all depends on how much we feel his intangibles will factor into his overall development.

The only other guy I would take over Cousins is Wes Johnson. Everybody else, even though they may have better heads than Cousins, just don't have nowhere near the level of talent and skill Cousins has. The gap in skill and talent skill is just too great for me to pass up, even with all the issues Cousins has regarding his head.

I'm not sold on Wes Johnson. I'm starting to like Al-Farouq Aminu better than Johnson. Aminu seems like he could be a beast. I just see Johnson a Donte Greene with polish.

I'm not saying that this is the final guy, but If we aren't able to get a big (Cousins, Favors) I think he can be a star player at the 3. If we are ranking players by position I'd definitely put Aminu ahead of Johnson.
KANGZZZZZ!
