It's not that great, and he's still pretty skinny for a PF, which would explain why he gets backed down in the post. Also, while I'm sure he can be a decent shotblocker at the next level, it's tough to see him really being an anchor. Favors is bigger, longer and more athletic. Obviously, he's not an option in all likelihood.

But I'm pretty anti-Davis. The only guys I'd be down with at 5 right now would be any of the top 4 that fall, Johnson, Aldrich, Udoh, and even though he really doesn't fill our needs at all, I really like Patrick Patterson. He's very similar to Landry in a lot of ways, but I just really like him. Also, I guess if the team has him in for a workout and likes what they see (a friend of mind spent a few days with him and loves the guy), I'd be down for Whiteside.

Ed Davis is a huge no-no. His team stunk!!!!!! If you're a projected lotto pick, your team better make the NCAA tournament. I mean, if you, can't even dominate in college, what makes you think you'll dominate in NBA ball? With the 5th overall selection, you better get a dominate level player at some aspect of the game of basketball. Ed Davis is such a terrible pick.

I believe Davis was injured the last two months of the season.

He's not bad, I've seen him effect games on help defense more than I've seen a guy like Favors who supposedly thinks he can step right in and make a difference on that end.

I just think he most likely stays at a high level role player, maybe like smoother, more in control, better defensive Jason Thompson.

I want Favors! I think he can be a more athletic Elton Brand pre-achillis injury.

Casspi

Dooling

Kings get Favors

Nets get Casspi and Cousins

Favors give the Kings a good PF who can be great offensively AND defensively. I think he has a greater ceiling than cousins.

Nets could get Cousins and Casspi to help their rebuilding process.

Beno/Dooling
Evans/Garcia
Greene/Noc
Favors/Landry
Hawes/JT

Our Bigs would be set..

Our backcourt could be addressed via Free Agency.

Eh. New Jersey won't do it. Favors is getting to much press now.

But on a side note, I still really love Omri, and i think we all gave him too bad a rap during his rookie slump.

I still think Favors belongs behind guys like Cousins, Turner, and Wall but the fit is arguably too good for the needs of the Nets. I still think Favors won't live up to the hype long term.

The kid can shoot. He is athletic. Great Bball IQ. Is a solid defender. Has the size. And clearly is a lot stronger than his weight would indicate.

When Favors vs. Cousins is basically a draw at the moment, it's hard to justify Casspi being the difference.

That kind of lifting really isn't necessarily indicative of strength but more so muscular endurance. Still, it's quite an impressive showing just as all his results were. Aldrich did very well on the lane agility drill just like I had anticipated. Cousins did well in that portion as well.

Johnson has been my #1 guy this whole time and the tests just cement it further. I'll be happy with any of Cousins, Johnson, or Aldrich. Petrie better not F with us this year!!! The devastation of losing out on Blair last year was enough.

While I'd be happy with Johnson at this point, my biggest concern about him is still his defense, and how he can play at the SG spot.

Although Johnson is rising quickly. It's no longer a pipe dream to see him getting taken at #4.

I still think it shows he's a lot stronger than people think. (One of those skinny guys at the gym who are doing insane amount of weights). It's unlikely Johnson only benches and doesn't work out anything else on his body, so if he works out his body somewhat uniformly, then from a pure weight lifting standpoint, Johnson is very strong. This doesn't necessarily mean it will always translate to basketball, but it does show that his muscles are strong enough. I think we'd all rather see him left 16 times opposed to 2 times.

However, I wasn't aware of Johnson's leaping ability either. He has a great 7'1" wingspan, big hands. Seem's like a great person and fairly intelligent (from his interviews).

Ehh, the rest of the combine stuff really isn't that telling. A lot of the guys don't really try that hard because pretty much every team measures this stuff themselves anyway.

On that note, where is everyone seeing these measurements? I'm not seeing them at Draftexpress.

Why do people want to force Wes to play SG? He's an SF! I know we have a million SFs, but that doesn't mean we should force Wes to play SG. I don't think whether or not he can play SG should factor in the decision to draft him.
