To let a game they should have comfortably won by 25 come down to the last shot is straight up embarrassing. Their lackadiasical attitude won't be a problem for this series but it may well bite them in the ass in the next.

They were up by 17 at one point and 18 at another. It was more to the fact that they got complacent and let you guys off the hook.

Some are saying that now you guys know you can play with them at staples, again HOW?

Do you guys like coming from behind after double digit deficits? Its not like you guys were up and let them come back.

Its comical that your team has been done for weeks now and you still come back to troll.

I was just watching the post game interviews. It's unbelievable that the Lakers still complain about the refs even after winning...and well, after BEING THE LAKERS!

Hey guys, Blazer fan here, and long-time Nash fan. I've been fired up about the Suns since it was clear they were gonna stomp Portland, and I gotta say... wow, harsh end, but man, Go Suns! This Suns team is down-right LOVABLE. Seriously, I love this team. I have FULL confidence they can beat the Los Referee Lakers if they just keep their heads up and play like they've been playing. (However, if it goes to game 7, I'll have to check with Donaghy on that).

GO SUNS!!!!

Our fanbase is a little testy after last night's loss so I'd advise you to tone it down a bit. Even if you don't mean to be, you're coming off as a bit trollish.

DOUBLE THANKS!!

If people are going to troll (which i do not advise), take it to the GeneralBoard. Suns fans trolling on the Lakers Board get suspended. Bout time our Laker trolls get the same.

+5 to both teams Mods for taking control of the situation! :D

The Lakers complain because they rank 1st in points in the paint of all 16 playoff teams, yet they can't seem to get to the line as much as their opponent.

Thats what the Zone Defense does. It crowds the paint and makes teams shoot 3's and jumpers. Hence less fouls.

It's not about the zone defense, the Lakers are simply not getting to the free throw line.

In the first five games...

...the Lakers have attempted 139 dunks and layups leading to 232 points in the paint.

...the Suns have attempted 124 dunks and layups leading to 178 points in the paint.

In the first five games...

...the Lakers have attempted 112 free throws.

...the Suns have attempted 161 free throws.

That's a -49 in free throws attempted for the series and a -93 for the playoffs, which ranks them 16th out of 16 playoff teams.

Have you looked at the amounts made up in the from the first two games compared to the past 3 when the Suns switched to primarily zone defense? IIRC, the Lakers were killing the Suns in the paint prior to the switch to zone.

I think if the Lakers would also quit bitching after EVERY SINGLE call and stop overacting on obvious non-fouls, the refs might give them more calls inside (not like they don't get a lot of benefit of the doubt from refs in the first place). The Lakers demeanor is that of someone born rich. They expect to get everything they want all the time because that's how it's always been. When they don't get everything they want, they cry like babies until someone gets so tired of it that they give in just to shut them up.

you can also add in the 6 fouls in game 3 & 4 that the Lakers made at the end of the game to stop the clock. :D

FWIW, in case anyone is interested, KB84MVP got a 7-day suspension.

Here's the breakdown of games 1 and 2 and games 3 through 5 (averages in parentheses):

1 and 2

Lakers - 54 dunks and layups attempted, 108 points in the paint, 56 free throws attempted (27/54/28)

Suns - 45 dunks and layups attempted, 80 points in the paint, 58 free throws attempted (23/40/29)

3 through 5

Lakers - 85 dunks and layups attempted, 124 points in the paint, 56 free throws attempted (28/41/19)

Suns - 79 dunks and layups attempted, 98 points in the paint, 103 free throws attempted (26/33/34)

As for the whining, moaning, complaining, I think it has to stop. It's actually hurting them at getting back on defense and allows high early shot clock field-goal percentages. And I also agree that they are expecting it, but it's because they are the #1 ranked team in the playoffs in points in the paint, yet #16 in free throw differential. At -93, the next closest is at -34 and the remaining playoff teams are Celtics at -9, Suns at +24, and Magic at +54.

I got a 3 day suspension for a asking a laker player a question in which by the moderator's own admission did not remotely rise to the level of "trolling." But he suspended me anyway. Talk about dishonest, unethical moderators!
