Good Decisions

Post#1 » by NBAWestFan » Fri May 28, 2010 5:53 am

I just have to say in the finals Ron Ron you might not get a chance to redeem
yourself. Play smart. If you are cold don't try to shoot it when you need to run down the
clock. Had the long three not been taken in, the Suns would have ran out of time and would not have had 3 chances to tie the game.

Don't do it again.

BTW. Great going at the End of the Game.

I don't know, I've mixed feeling about both his late game shots.

Ron's first shot...from just above free throw line:

I like the confidence he showed by just catching and shooting with no hesitation.
I didn't like the shot b/c he wasn't fully set and with time left on the shot clock I'd rather work it for a shot by Kobe/Fish.

Ron's second shot...the three from the wing:

Again, I like the confidence he showed having the balls to take it.
I hated the shot b/c there were 21 seconds left on the shot clock and 55 seconds in the game.

Overall, intellegence will win championships and we won't beat a better team (than the Suns) with goofs like that.

@fareweatherfan
Yeah I do see your point. If i was on the floor yeah I would do what you said. But thats why I wouldn't make it in the NBA. Guys like Ron, Kobe, Fish, Pierce, Allen and Wade are going to shoot that 98% of the time. Miss it, they won't even think about it and they'll just move on the next play.
Those dudes live in the moment. Thats what makes them good at what they do, which is scoring. Thats how they stay clutch. You can't let the defending team relax because guess what? You may have missed that last shot but who is to say youre not going to sink the next one. Then you have the defender guessing and playing the percentages in his or head head.

Surely I wished he just taken a step in no doubt!

Then you don't know the game, up three with 50 seconds left, you pull it out and run clock, THAT is basketball 101.

If Bynum was open out there is that your rule? Shoot it of your open? Bball 101?

Funny how you say "IF". Was he? Maybe Ron didn't see him open. You don't run clock when the score was what is was. Silly Nash groupie, you run a play! Get a better shot "Run Clock" dude quiet...

Yes, did you know Phil was pissed at Ron? Nah, how would a guy who thinks a guy who is shooting very poorly should take a shot up three with 21 seconds left on the shot clock, and 55 seconds left in the game know this?  You ever even play ball?

Heck, I guess if Bynum was open from three he should have shot too? LOL

Yeah, and did you see Ron's reaction? Did you hear what he said when he was asked about it? Yeah he was not phased. Not the least. No consience, ice cold. Thats how you have to be if you're going to be clutch. Sure anyone else would have passed that look up.
You've got to be out of your mind if you honestly think Kobe wouldn't have took that shot!!

Bynum can take the shot... He better make it if he does lol! Dam man, Pau took that same shot twice in this series and he missed.

Who cares Rons reaction, Ron's a little nutty, hasn't made the best decisions in many games this year, or his career, or have you not noticed his career? Detroit brawl, , getting thrown out of games in clutch moments just last year in Houston? You are obviously not much of an NBA watcher. Ron was shooting horribly, he is not clutch, I would say this is his first game winner of his long career, he should have pulled the ball out as any coach would tell you, listen to talk radio, many analysts are agreeing with me, NONE are agreeing with you.

Thats how you have to be if you're going to be clutch. Sure anyone else would have passed that look up.

Kobe, Fish, Gasol, most would have done what should have been done, run the clock, then work the ball to Kobe or Gasol for a higher percentage shot, not jack up a three when you are shooting poorly to begin with and too much time on the shot clock in a close game with just seconds left.

You've got to be out of your mind if you honestly think Kobe wouldn't have took that shot!!

Kobe would have pulled it out, but he first would have run clock, set up a play, get it to Gasol inside or work for a better shot than Ron (who is shooting poorly from three) hacking up another ill advised shot.
Bynum can take the shot... He better make it if he does lol! Dam man, Pau took that same shot twice in this series and he missed.

Bynum can take the shot? That shot from three point land? Wow, thank goodness your not a coach dude, do you even play the game?

Ron Artest is a decent shooter from deep with a wide open 3, no pressure. It's not a jacked up shot or anything. I don't see how a Kobe or Pau fadeaway is a better look than a wide open 3 by Artest.

What you and hoopdreams don't get is that if Ron pulls it out and runs say 20 seconds off the game clock, then take a shot, the game clock is now down to 25 seconds, that's just smart basketball, clock management, giving the opponent less time to make a comeback, it's just what any coach would tell you. You both might want to study the game a bit more.

Finals Ron Ron and Pierce will each be suspended a game.

Compton will love Ron Ron and will hate Pierce.
