Better to lose Game 5 instead of Game 6!!

Post#1 » by JMac1 » Fri May 28, 2010 6:28 pm

I told a Laker buddy and several other friends, that it would be tough to win 4 games in a row against the Lakers, period. I said I wouldn't be all mad if we lose game 5 and win game 6, because winning game 5 would have made......

1. Us so happy (see Lakers), we could be complacent in Game 6 (the let down) and tight, knowing it is a must win.

2. The Lakers, well Kobe  come out with a vengence as well as the refs to create a game 7.

3. (If one and two happened and we lost game 6 after winning 5) Feel like we blew our chance to wrap up the series, creating angst and doubt for the players and fans for game 7.

Being an optimist, I am going to say winning game 5 would have cost us to lose game 6, a blessing in disguise (I hate em too, just bless me already  ).

So would you rather win game 5 and lose game 6 or lose game 5 and win game 6 going back to LA?

Now if we lose game 6 then all of this is moot.

I hope I made you guys feel better......I do, especially with Nash's guarantee :D

I am 100% sure we'll take game 6.

Game 7 is a different story...

I hope they win game 6 but I'm not sure why everyone thinks it's a guranteed win.

Sorry. I'll take my chances at them being complacent. I'd rather win game 5 and go home up 3-2.

They didn't look too complacent against Portland or SA.

You missed the point of the thread. I am assuming the Lakers would win game 6! I don't think that would be too far fetched. I would have liked to be up too, but like I said...What if we were up and lost.

We are down and the only way to look at it now, is my way. Can't say what if, only what is...

I wouldn't assume we got game 6, the lakers are legit... I do like our chances though..

Game 6 is a very important game for us, I don't think we have much of a chance at winning the series if we lose game 6. (joke, haha)

Because, Nash guaranteed it. If you learned anything Mary, the difference in this series has been confidence. The Suns came out timid again last night got down by 18. Nash is playing the game, not us. If he says they will win, I believe him. Our biggest fear as Suns fans is wich Suns team will show up, the onw with or without heart. Nash, JD and the guys have the confidence they need. Heck a lot of media is even confident in us.

If someone tells you, you can be something, it helps. If someone tells you, you are going to fail, it hurts. The Suns got rid of that confidence hurdle last night and I don't expect to see it anymore.

After the game, did you hear anyone say they were just better and bigger? NO!!!

Play a sport and coach a sport Mary, then maybe you will get rid of that poor attitude. If you were a player on my team, you would NEVER play and I would muzzle your mouth 24/7.

That is a loser mentality!!!! Come to Chandler and spend a week with me, I'll fix it for you!!

I learned that as a kid. Didn't you ever play a sport growing up Mary?

I probably want the Suns to win game 6 more than alot of other people but it's kind of silly to gurantee a win because anything could happen.

I feel the same way. Before I thought whoever won game 5 would win the series. However, after seeing us fight back and how we've handled the loss, I truly believe that if we win game 6 than we'll win game 7.

A guarantee isn't about the statement, it is about the state of mind of the athlete making the statement and who the athlete is. If it was Amare....meh......

Yeah as much as the loss hurt the way it went down, there are two GREAT things about it:

1) The Suns were able to come back and tie it with 3.5 seconds left
2) The post-game comments were absolutely perfect

I don't think they could have done a better job of displaying resolve, confidence and belief in each other(without being delusional at least). This game and its backlash has shown everyone(that didn't know) exactly why I love this Suns team.

thats the good thing about this team, we realy have a chance of winning it. realy. i mean, what more can go against us. kobe is exactly doing what kobe always does to us, he is just killing us. pau is a scrub who scores 20/10 - but we still had our chances. im excited bout tomorrow.

The Magic were facing elimination being down 3-0, and came back to win two in a row. Suns can do the same. I believe.
It'll take tremendous heart and hustle, I'm not saying Game 6 is a gimme, but we better play our hearts out.

Yes. The fact that they came from 18 points point to tie it proves a point to Phil Jackson and his crew, and to the whole world. The Suns are not going to go away. They will fight to the death.

Im pretty sure that the whole team will play Suns basketball in game 6. I am confident we will win that game. Game 7 is another story though..but given how games 1,2 and 5 have been getting closer and closer, we might just be able to pull off an upset.

Nash and Hill FTW!

I know where you're coming from. But us guaranteeing it is us just being super fans. I'm sure all of us Suns fans cannot imagine a scenario where the Suns lose game 6. Obviously there is a chance they can lose but we just cannot fathom it.
