When did Hinrich turn into a very good starting PG? Didn't some CHI fans want Duhon starting?

You're being unrealistic.
Just letting Bosh walk for nothing is better than Taj Gibson, James Johnson (who is terrible by the way), a bad contract and a bad pick.
You can buy a bad pick and buy another late pick to get a guy as good as Taj Gibson. You can get both picks for about $6M. Why pay $18M to get that when you can just pay $6M to get the same talent? And you don't have to lose the cap room that comes with taking Kirk's bad contract.
You're being unrealistic.
Pretending Hinrich is some Albatross is unrealistic.
The Lakers wanted Hinrich last trade deadline. They will go after him again with expiring contracts next year because not only is he a very good PG, he's great for the triangle.
Writing that his contract in one lump of "$18M" is so disingenuous because you know that contract becomes a valuable expiring contract in one year.
Again, in the end it's Bosh's choice.
Every sign/trade deal had two things happen:
1. The player went to exactly where he wanted to go
2. The team that traded him got screwed in talent.
So I ask again: Why would Bosh go to NY with Lebron when he can go to Chicago and also play with Rose and Noah?
This is a dynasty;
Rose
Lebron
Bosh
Noah

You don't have any leverage for a S&T if you don't have the cap room to force a trade. You've presented a hypothetical that requires the Raptors to take a bad contract. A bad contract is not better than cap room.
And Hinrich is definitely a bad contract. He's worth about $3M and is getting paid $9M for two more years.
Tell me one S&T where the team dealing away a perennial All-Star took a bad contract in return?
The S&T's where there was not equal value occurred because 1) the team had the room to sign a player outright and he had already committed to sign for a team's cap room, and 2) no bad contracts went back to the team trading away its best player.
Neither of those conditions applies to the Bulls' situation.
This is wishful thinking. It's not happening.

Q: I heard one guy ask you if LeBron was staying at your house. Have you talked to LeBron?
Derrick Rose: No, no, that's not true. Don't believe none of that. Don't believe none of that, man.
http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/n ... id=5231390
I don't want to gloat, but this officially debunks the last shred of actual proof that Bulls fans could point to. The rest is just ESPN and Mike McGraw. Not exactly good evidence of anything.

He always was. Then Rose came in and displaced him.
The Lakers among other playoff teams will try to trade for him again because he's good and his contract with two friggin years left ain't bad.
Wow.
Major overstating Hinrich's contract on this board. All of a sudden it's Rashard Lewis bad.
Whatever gets you to denial.

Reaching much?
"Each time, Rose laughed and played the question off. If Rose had talked to James or anyone else, he wasn't saying."
There's no proof of anything substantial in there.
and McGraw doesn't make stuff up:
The truth is, James' camp has made it clear he is very interested in the Bulls. How interested, we won't know for sure until July 1. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=382364

Okay than explain this to me. Why would the Raptors want Jose Calderon, Kirk Hinrich(two bad contracts) and Jarret Jack????
The deal has to atleast include a calderon for hinrich swap.
And let me explain to you why Hinrich is a bad contract. Jarret Jack is doing as much as him. He has and average handle and has average vision. Hes is a good player to have in your bench(like all the players you are sending his way)
Bottom line when you trade a star player you do not take bench players > cap space. Especially when you didnt make the playoffs with your all star player

Yes lets take rumors from unknown sources and compare them to your best players quotes.

I'm not saying it's a good contract for Toronto. It makes no sense for them. I'm just saying it's not a deal killer within the context of this sign/trade. If Bosh wants Chicago, Hinrich's contract will not stop it. Especially if it's coming with Taj and multiple picks. And Hinrich's contract won't be hard for them to unload next trade deadline with the way LA lusted after him.
Bottom line -- the player goes exactly where he wants to go.

What exactly did Rose say there?
He said essentially nothing about Lebron except he didn't live in his house for that week.
Rumors from unknown sources by a reputable writer like McGraw weighs more than Rose saying nada in that piece.

He never was. Ever. He was a decent starting PG.
I never said his contract was Rashard Lewis bad. Where did I say that? His contract is not something Toronto would be jumping for joy to get though. I'd really stop this baiting your trying to do or I will stop it for you.

Then it is a dealbreaker. If it makes no sense then why wouldnt it be a dealbreaker. Plus only reason the Lakers would have interest is because they are set at every other position and thought a Sasha Vujacic would get him. Taj and all you are sending their way are bench guys.
The team that are S&T the player has to get pieces to fit their team or at the very least capspace. TOR is getting neither.

Only if you discount half the game.
Hinrich has always had top shelf defense which is why he's been asked -- for the vast majority of his career -- to defend bigger SGs (and now play SG) as we've always had a small backcourt.
Yes, he was and is a good starting PG. And yes he's overpaid about $2M a year.
The Rashard comment was based on Knicksgod's comments not you. I'm not baiting. I'm trying hard to get a real discussion here.

Man, it's called context.
This is in the third paragraph, spelling it out: "If Rose had talked to James or anyone else, he wasn't saying."
Clearly, Rose was laughing off Lebron staying at his house.
There is nothing in this piece at all.

Yeah and there was a report where Bosh laughed off the question of will he sign with the Knicks. They are just laughing at the hype this free agency is getting.
He then was asked the question and denied it. Thats a fact. Everything else is speculation on our points.

Anyone see the wiretap: http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... icago_job/
Thibodeau has signed with World Wide Wes who is connected with Lebron.
It's just...interesting.
You also have to wonder about what Lebron thinks about the NY's coach's stance on defense.

Well, for one, the idea that D'antoni "doesn't care about defense" is false. The very first practice of the season was totally devoted to defense. Most of the rotation moves he made this season were based on defense, and not crap like FG%.
Also, Lebron's comments about defense:
James, who dismissed a question about joining the Knicks next season, was asked if he could play for a team that didn’t care about defense.
“I’m a winner. I just want to win,” he said. “I’ve yet to play for a team that doesn’t like defense, but that’s not about the team, it’s about individuals first. Individuals have to want the responsibility to guard the guy in front of them and then it makes it a lot easier as a team.”
http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/35654776/ns/sports-nba/
Jared Jeffries said the exact same thing, saying that it's simply the apathetic nature and low BBIQ of our expiring players that led to our poor defense this season.
Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom. ~George Smith Patton
