WizBoard Appreciation Thread
This past year has sucked royally (until the lotto). But I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge some fantastic additions to the board over the that time. Namely, Hoopalotta and montestewart. This place is a lot more enjoyable for your contributions.
Also really happy to see that Mikey Prada posts here from time to time. His site, bulletsforever.com is the preeminent Wizards blog on the web IMHO.

fish- I can't believe you didn't throw Ji some love. I think he single handedly broke the 'jinx' and helped us acquire the #1 overall draft pick, which should turn out to be our franchise PG, John Wall.
So, kudos to Ji....thanks, man!

I don't think I was reading this board very closely when Ji developed his rep, so it doesn't mean too much to me. I go along with the Ji/Irene Pollin/all bets are off/the curse is broken theory, though I'm not really superstitious anyway. Wall, Leonsis, Ji game threads, whatever; it's a new day.
Thanks for the thumbs up fishercob. I like all the posters on this board, and in many ways I like the ones I disagree with more, because that really makes me think through and occasionally alter my opinion based on some hard truth. We're all pretty much in it together.
Sometimes you want to go

cause your team is effin lame . . .

95% lurker 5% poster here. I can't agree more with Fisher. The quality of discussion on this board is so far above what i can find in the usual media sources, I'd pay for the content. And you two add to that a lot. I can't see how Hoopalotta has time for work or family with all the attention he gives to Wizards analysis!
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

I disagree, this board used to be much better, more active, and more interesting. The real smart posters have stopped posting, and the rest of the ideas are rehashes of each other.

Yeah, I've been pretty bad.

I guess it's that:
1) I have a low maintenance wife and no kids and the Misses is pretty well a computer geek too.
2) About half my work now is from home, so I'm usually in front of the computer kind of 'nibbling at it' without a real 'now I'm working/now I'm goofing around' delineation. I suppose I work twelve hour days, but at a very low intensity level and with lots of breaks.

3) While there's many things I stink at, I'm in the upper echelon of writing 'really, really fast'. For long academic papers I can develop, research, write and edit essays chock full of citations at a rate of about one page an hour (on a pure opinion piece I could double of triple that). As an undergrad, I did once crank out that "I hope you have all been diligently working on this term paper for the last six weeks" essay in a single day.
So my posting doesn't take as long as you would think. I am guilty of pressing 'refresh' on the board quite often, though.

Truth is I was planning to tone down my post count, but now, well.....
We're gettin' John Wall!

Well Krizko, I appreciate your stance on Arenas. Your voice is a good balance to the "dump the criminal for a bag of beans" crowd. Hopefully you'll find more interesting debate on the site over the next year or two; it's going to be a critical time for the Wizards.
Hoopa, I'm jealous. I'm the opposite with writing. Verbal exchanges disappear into the ether, easily denied or reinterpreted later. Written words stand forever to be mocked or applauded.

Oh, don't be jealous, I should have put this part in bold red font....
There's many things I stink at...
As to written words, I figure if they're getting mocked years down the road, well, they at least had some kind of staying power.

And those who applaud are destined to be mocked.
Adding Monte and Hoopa in the same year was like getting 2 extra lotto picks. They're not just great individual posters, but they fit the system and make other posters better.

....and, Monte & Hoopa don't have to resort to insults when disagreeing with the content of a post. Good guys to have around.

Not a fan of either. What with their "rational arguments"...and..."non-confrontational style"...and...general "likability"...
Makes me sick.

I ate there. But I stayed at a cheap motel. Left before she woke up and took all her money. I think she's changing her name to the marriott. Or Jay Mariotti http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Mariotti not sure which
