This according from Jim Hendry via Tim McCarver.

I think it's Cashner. Makes sense why they moved Jackson back to the rotation. If they were going to call him up, why stretch his arm for one start? I think this is a dumb move by the Cubs, but hey I thought the same thing about Castro.

Cashner has been very good this season, but he should have gotten 3-5 more starts at AAA before they made this decision.

Cubs manager Lou Piniella today announced that Carlos Zambrano will return to the starting rotation Wednesday in Pittsburgh. Tom Gorzelanny will move to the bullpen to make room for Zambrano, whose last start came April 20.

"We talked to Gorzelanny about the fact that he's going to the bullpen," Piniella said. "We didn't expect him to be happy about it and he wasn't, but at the same time, we impressed on him that he could be very helpful to us."

Piniella also said that highly-touted right-handed reliever Andrew Cashner would be called up from Iowa in time for the Pirates series in order keep a balance of righty-lefty arms in the bullpen.

It's a shame we have so many bloated contracts. I'd like to see all our young prospects get chances in the big leagues by the end of the season. This season is a wash anyways.

I think realistically we could have seen Cashner and Jackson in the bullpen/rotation this season. We still might see both. Other than Colvin and Castro there are no other prospects worth playing time that are ready. Perhaps if Hill struggles overly Clevenger might get a nod at C.
